@Carsofglasgow1 @Mattisamazing33 Might not be the case in Britain, this was in middle Canada. I checked the back of both the mild and regular 70% in disbelief. Soy lecithin emulsifier too in the mild one. 🤢 Non-mild, regular dark stuff is safe.

@jammyapps @Mattisamazing33 I never knew Lindt used palm oil

@ZoeJardiniere It's not been sold, it's under licence. It still belongs to the crown.
On top of that Parliament is sovereign, so it can renationalise oil and gas whenever it feels like passing a law to do so, especially since we withdrew from the ECT. Is this a parody account?
English

@ZackPolanski Yes, we should back more gas and drilling, and the world should know.
Domestic production means environmental standards are adhered to.
We still need LNG, we just import it at the moment. Production closer to supply reduces transport costs, which are passed on to the consumer.

A huge betrayal.
Won't lower bills. Won't give us more energy security. Won't insulate from price shocks.
And sends a clear message to the world that we are backing new oil and gas drilling.

@SeedOilDsrspctr Just avoid the big cities and built-up urban areas, and you'll be fine. Countryside pubs are still as they were, if they're not closing because the kids don't drink.

@__el__toro__ Oh, interesting! I love Motorsport for things like this - it doesn't have to work for 500,000 road miles, it has to last a race, and be fast.

@jammyapps Those little gaps close up under braking. The radius of the bumps reduces stress concentrations and ensures contact as it deforms.

Our Formula SAE car back in the day had a unique disc design that I've never seen on another vehicle.
If you take a close look at the slots, you'll notice the disc is completely slotted through at certain points, essentially creating fingers.
When the caliper is squeezed, the fingers deform & make solid contact with the rest of the disc as they drag through the brake pads. The inner slots next to the fingers also incorporate this feature to help stiffen the disc under braking.
Why were the discs designed this way? Well, another interesting component of the design is that the discs are made out of aluminum (and thus were super light). The slots allowed the discs to thermally expand without cracking.
They also had a proprietary coating applied (I believe it was high-friction & nickel based) to greatly extend service life.
The judges in the design portion of the competition loved our idea, but deducted a few points because we could not tell them what the coating was made of.
Has anyone ever seen brakes like this before?

@Mike_M_Klotz Depends if he's roughly dumping it on the driveway, or deftly manhandling it up some old windy stairs into a first floor apartment.

@Mattisamazing33 I've always irrationally coveted a Monster, looked at one again recently for an on-site project I'll be working on, but I know I'll end up on one of my Hondas again for the dependable commute.
Likely this little 400; carbs, no screens, revs to 12,500, and sips!

@eevblog How long before it lies to you about the signal it's measuring?
"The voltage you're measuring absolutely doesn't go above 3.3V, you're safe to connect up that sensitive component!"

"You're right to point out it was 240V AC, here's a new reading, that is 100% accurate"

@Mattisamazing33 I have just unravelled a multicar policy because it cost more, the insurance industry is an absolute nest of thieves. It would be so simple to sort all this out. Day 1 of my administration would put them all in the Tower...
