Today I went to Wenatchee, the heart of apple, pear, and cherry country, to discuss the challenges facing the tree fruit industry. I'm grateful for the hard work and innovation of our farmers and growers that make our agriculture among the best in the world. They had valuable insight today into how state government can be a better partner in supporting this vital economic sector.

Washington renters – you’ve got some legal protection against sky-high rent increases. A new state law caps rent hikes, and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has begun enforcing it. The AGO recently secured eight resolutions with landlords across the state who have agreed to withdraw rent increase notices and issue refunds to tenants. This enforcement action will help more than 250 households. “Our office will do all it can to address the housing challenges impacting Washingtonians across the state,” Brown said. “Protecting tenants under this new law is one piece of the work we’re doing to ensure more people have safe, affordable places to live.” Read more: atg.wa.gov/news/news-rele…
