We have an emergency repair that will take time on the 1950 Tacoma Narrows Bridge. We uncovered damage beneath the driving surface that requires double-lane closures on the bridge going from Tacoma to Gig Harbor. (1/2)

We wear orange most days, but today, it has extra meaning. On this Go Orange Day, please take care to slow down, pay attention, and give crews space in work zones. At the end of the day, we all want to get home safely. #Orange4Safety

Winter decided to show up a little later than expected. Unfortunately, that may have caught drivers off guard. We have I-90 closed in both directions due to multiple blocking collisions from just west of the summit at MP 47 to Easton at MP 71. No estimate yet on a reopening.

FINAL UPDATE: Both northbound I-5 lanes are now OPEN south of Bellingham. It's been nearly 4 weeks since the March 19 slide. Since then crews have stabilized the slope with 96 steel dowels and hauled enough debris to fill 2 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

UPDATE 4/14: Crews continue reestablishing drainage and clearing the slide site. Our maintenance crews also inspected the area Tues. NB I-5 still closed south of Bellingham, but we remain on track to reopen both lanes by 5a Thurs (4/16), pending a final inspection of the slope.
