@lanobecker @KagutaMuseveni Do you know why each country has its own Medicine Regulations, they have unique issues to deal with!

Bwana Becker, The details of every other positions will be in the guidelines (the bill gives the minister of health responsibility to make guides of almost every clause). Just like it’s ONLY the ED of the Authority being mentioned doesn’t mean he/she will be working alone, there will be Director, Heads of Departments and staff! Can you imagine a law that lists every position from the gateman to the CEO! Don’t be misled, don’t make false alarms! This law has gone through hundreds of hands, we aren’t all dumb!

We strongly condemn the selfish practice of ring-fencing a professional title at the expense of sidelining other competent scientists. Such actions demoralize innovation & risk driving our skilled professionals out of Ug to countries that recognize & value them. @KagutaMuseveni

I know that bill by word and detail! I hope you haven’t been misled by self seekers or other interests to make false alarms. I want to repeat it for you that everyone appreciates all qualified persons in the role of medicine manufacturing and the entire supply chain but what clause 31 emphasizes is that the pharmacist MUST be the overall/final supervisor of the entire manufacturing of medicine! It doesn’t take away the fact that there will be other qualified personal along the entire chain! This clause DOES NOT place only pharmacists in the manufacturing plant, it can’t! It’s not only illogical but also IMPOSSIBLE! This is exactly why I invented you for an extensive chat; the online spectators should never make us lose focus, they cheer us up for even what they don’t know! Our doors are open, we can engage up to AG’s chambers!

@lanobecker In the medical, we call this a wild diagnosis. It can actually exist.

And what does the Bill say, exactly that; but it says the overall supervisor will be a pharmacist! The noise in the background seem to suggest that we are putting up a law that is suggesting that everyone on the manufacturing MUST be a pharmacist; NO! It clearly puts the final responsibility on a pharmacist while in full knowledge that they will have other qualified personal to work with! Sit down those making false alarms and they tell you exactly what they want!

@GershomMuganga Basic Clinical Sciences, including Biochemistry, Physiology, and Anatomy. This integrated training equips them with a holistic understanding of medicines, from development and formulation to therapeutic application and patient care. Thus, any practitioner who has not...

I don’t earn anything from lies; that list you shared has an overall supervisor who is a Pharmacist! HE @KagutaMuseveni has severally met experts from both @WHO and African Medicines Agency, he knows these facts! Time for politics ended, Uganda must do the right thing! No one is saying other qualified persons won’t be involved but must be supervised by the right person and for medicines, that person is a pharmacist!

WHAT IS UGANDA’S CONTEXT? 1/ Ours in Uganda so far are pharmaceutical technologists registered by Allied Health Professionals Council after completion of 3 years BSc. Pharmaceutical Sciences at MUST. Real pharmaceutical scientists are registered by PSU.

@lanobecker fight hard otherwise the risk of extinction is knocking at your doors@ pharmaceutical scientist. also you should have followed all stages of this bill development. I noticed during the stakeholder engagement, you didn't participate.

@lanobecker @KagutaMuseveni What is wrong with that?? What is selifish about professionals being in charge rather than unregulated disorganized scientists with no professional body. Who do your employers report to in case of misconduct?

@lanobecker Interesting. So according to u ( putting pharmacists and Pharmaceutical scientists aside) all other are scientists mentioned are also better positioned to supervise drug manufacturing?

@lanobecker This was a joint effort from all other medical practitioners fighting for equal rights the same way you are fighting . Not just to pharmacists
