We strongly condemn the selfish practice of ring-fencing a professional title at the expense of sidelining other competent scientists. Such actions demoralize innovation & risk driving our skilled professionals out of Ug to countries that recognize & value them. @KagutaMuseveni

Who heads quality and production units at global pharmaceutical companies and what are their education qualifications? The NDHPA 2025 needs to be revised to suit qualified persons @APSU2024 @uspc21 @Parliament_Ug @MinofHealthUG @PharmacistsUg @KagutaMuseveni

Clause 31 of the NDHPA Bill, 2025 is also very silent about experience. Why are Ugandans taken for granted? We as scientists in the pharmaceutical sector, we strongly reject clause 31 May H.E @KagutaMuseveni kindly intervene

@anyinejonathan I felt compelled to respond to this, and honestly, I’m quite surprised this comment came from you. I had always believed you were capable of thinking more deeply about things like this. To be frank, it left me feeling disappointed. Given your four years of effort and leadership.

YES YES YES. It's very misleading and guided by a lot of selfishness from the Pharmacist leadership. We clearly had a stake holders engagement and all these issues eg clause 31 highlighted.

#RejectClause31: NDHPA Bill China, UK and even Rwanda, all at Maturity level 3, are not unwise to consider other pharmaceutical professionals other than pharmacists, for the supervisory role in drug manufacture. H.E @KagutaMuseveni , kindly intervene @SLutoti @StateHouseUg

Drug manufacturing must be under the direct supervision of a pharmacist Why this is a problem 1. It excludes other key professionals 1. Chemists 2. Pharmaceutical scientists 3. Chemical engineers 4. Microbiologists

1. Pharm science graduates are already being regulated by AHPC which has taken up this mandate. 2. The 3 yrs Pharm science program in Ug, just like it is 3 yrs in UK, covers all the necessary courses, and with required experience is fit for this role in both countries. Learn👇

@lanobecker Don't run away and hide under any groups. Inform the country and give accountability of your training (3 years course), professional and ethical responsibility as well as competencies. NCHE accredits courses & universities but not regulation of professionals. That's different!

Even Educators were shocked! Any one that can foresee the negative implications of that Clause 31 and how globally undermining it is, would advise the same. Thank you teachers of Uganda. Because you are, the Nation is! @KagutaMuseveni @ilo @FIP_org @MinofHealthUG @WHO @Mglsd_UG

Tell me brother, if this very 3 year course is recognized in UK, and, with required industrial experience, can supervise drug manufacture in the same far developedcountry, why is it hard for Ug?

@lanobecker @AbiazRwamwiri @UNDAuthority @KagutaMuseveni We wait for the final touches from the preasident but i don't see any amendment of clause 31 to happen if the bill was already because before it was passed parliament was briefed on the matter

We did every thing but the surrounding politics was too much. More than 4 groups queried this clause31 but the story of what transpired behind curtains is very embarrassing and demeaning to our nation. It's Only H.E @KagutaMuseveni that won't be manipulated. Check 13 & 17

@lanobecker fight hard otherwise the risk of extinction is knocking at your doors@ pharmaceutical scientist. also you should have followed all stages of this bill development. I noticed during the stakeholder engagement, you didn't participate.

More than 4 scientistific groups in the pharmaceutical sector reject clause 31 of the NDHPA Bill. It UNDERMINES EAC guidelines, global standards, and multidisciplinary practice in supervision of drug manufacture. This threatens innovation goals of the country. @KagutaMuseveni

We are actually not complaining. Let them just capture it as it is. This is exactly what we recommended to them. What was hard with just capturing that?
Bill Adrati, M.P.S.@BillAdrati

@OnanTumuhimbise @lanobecker @nmsuganda @PharmacistsUg It is only a pharmacist in Uganda among those cadres who have a combination of the different disciplines required for supervision of the manufacture of drugs. The rest have only the specific ones - and contribute to the specific tasks. THE LAW IS SPECIFIC - PHARMACISTS, AS Q.P!
