Had to get my Morton’s salt containers out of the overhead compartment during a flight so I could record a thing as the nephrologist, but I dropped them and they rolled down the aisle and I had to chase after them and somebody picked one up and said “here’s your salt”

A few years ago, I had a dying ICU patient with a temp ventricular support device. The situation was getting worse. The device rep called me directly to suggest we keep the person alive a little longer. How would you handle the call? @ACCinTouch

So my badge says “Doctor” and “Resident Physician” and every patient still doesn’t believe I am a doctor. Multiple patients said “I don’t believe you, you must be 12.” A couple refused to be seen by me.

@rashmeeushah You should get on that panel and whip the FDA in shape. Seems the bar for approval for device and drugs have gone down.... coinciding with increasing number of recalls and controversies.

I often wonder how people gett opportunities like serving on these panels. Where do I apply for this? For guidelines committees? For endowed chairs? I'm sure there is a fair way...

@rashmeeushah @ACCinTouch @AHA_Research I think what you’re describing is a time value unit model - where you account for all of the value added activities in a practice (not just the clinical activities). Capitated practices (like mine) often do this. In the ffs world I think @agtruesdell, your group does this, right?

Productivity is (unfortunately) measured by RVUs. If I exceed my benchmark, what if I could "donate" RVUs to someone? A colleague who needs time to get a research program up and running, a woman who needs clinic time to pump? Does this exist? @ACCinTouch @AHA_Research
