I get this take, and I get bummed out about it all the time. But then I'll go offline for a bit and see something like a Kurt Hentschlager, whose art doesn't translate at all to reproduction, much less social media content, and I'll feel better, and then I'll start congratulating myself for boldly seeking out art experiences in the meatspace, and then I'll think that, for all the art content online, there is still probably much more art that is not online, and I could leave the house and experience that anytime, and then I'll think: "I wonder if someone would subscribe to a channel of me doing that?"

No one is an artist, musician, designer, filmmaker, actor anymore. They’re all influencers whose content is art, music, design, film, acting etc

My favourite artwork created in my lifetime? It might be Brian Jungen's "Shapeshifter" (2000). I talked about what makes it great when I was in Marfa this past fall:

One of the superpowers of digital art: the ability to reach OUT into viewer's space, rather than drawing people IN to a safe white cube. This power circumvents an over-played contemporary art trope that really bothers me: art that is heavily dependent on the legitimacy of the gallery context to play contrapunto to the edginess of its content. In this clip, I'm talking about the ways that Robert Yang's work uses his medium to invert that tactic.
