i just went down a rabbit hole & found an easter egg perhaps it has already discovered but as a person that hides easter eggs in a lot of my work, this was a fun revelation it started when i saw @nuclearsamurai's right click save as guy x figure - i just had to have a go at doing an xchonk we don't have a background trait category in chonks but if we did, the epic fully on-chain right click share collection from @XCOPYART + @0xDecaArt would make a dope one imho token #0 in that collection renders the full 32x32 dynamic nft - and attached is how it would look if it were somehow possible to compose with it from our l2 chonks to their l1 token (chonks are 30x30 so there's a bit of cropping alas) upon reading the contract, i noticed the use of a magic array... the first index of that array never gets called but has an usual number in it: 4152542045564552595748455245 converting that to bytes & then ascii delivers a poignant message: ART EVERYWHERE

Sweet Chonk o’ Mine [1/?] 🎩 Meet CHONKSLASH! The first of a small series of chonky art bits I’ve been quietly cooking. Little love letters to @chonksxyz and the guitar gods I grew up worshipping. All made in Chonks Studio :-) Rest of the band arriving every few days 🎸

I always found discourse about The Currency by Damien Hirst a little bit silly. Was anyone surprised that a traditional artist using paint and paper would find their physical pieces more expensive than the *photos* of those very same physical pieces recorded as NFTs?
xinc@0xinc

@vangoyaa This is a more telling gap. The physical version trades at least 5-10x NFT.

"keep going" is a popular piece of advice. often intended to provide words of encouragement, it can be great advice, but it can also be terrible advice. it depends on the context of your situation. the well-intentioned people encouraging you to "keep going" almost never understand the context of your situation as well as you do. so, even though it is hard, you need to decide whether you believe it is actually best to "keep going" in the context of your situation, because no one else can know what is best for you better than you. but just because you have more context does not mean it is easy to know what is best. it would be easy if you could foresee with certainty the outcomes of different paths forward and then choose one. it is hard because you can't. you can never know what the future holds. and since you can't know, the best you can do is trust. in other words, you can have faith. not that if you keep going on a specific path, it will necessarily work out in the specific way that you imagine, but in something bigger than that. "believe in something" they say. it can be a religion. it can be that everything happens for a reason. it can be destiny, or something else entirely. something that helps you make choices and take actions when you can't know what's best to do, and no one else is better suited to tell you. @jackbutcher made a great visual for "keep going" (image on the left below) which shows why "keep going" can be great advice, in certain situations. i modified it to create another visual (image on the right below) which shows why "keep going" can be bad advice, in other situations. fortunately, you can't know which visual you're in. all you can do is make choices and take actions and have faith.

@0FJAKE wrote about it somewhere but can't find it now on any given task/track it is bad or at best lucky advice but ignoring it entirely means no new paths

Artist @martingrasser brought his Portraits collection to life, from code to physical artwork, in partnership with a bespoke glass manufacturer in Venice, Italy.  Working with the Italian artisans was a process that inspired him... 🧵👇 1/6

"Get this, I got one of the hottest artists in the space to make an edition so I can give it to the 30 people left with any money. Obviously I brokered it. And to top it off I introduced a new term, digital artist proof. They ate that sh!t up. Also Art Basel, Art basel, Art basel."

this > marry someone who builds with you, learns alongside you, and who is deeply dedicated to your growth no matter the ups and downs
dfinzer.eth | opensea@dfinzer

what a delightful, well-timed photoshoot in all seriousness: - i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve heard “opensea is done.” we’re still here. - if you start a business you can and should make money from it. but if you actually know our team, you know that our focus has always, from the start, been building products that people love. that will continue to be the case - my wife got into bitcoin in 2011 (years before nfts were a thing), has always paid for everything herself and started multiple non-profits while advising me. she’s never used the term “product mommy”, but she’s the most brilliant person i know and has built me into the person i am today. marry someone who builds with you, learns alongside you, and who is deeply dedicated to your growth no matter the ups and downs - our industry is still small and misunderstood. for crypto to scale it's eventually going to feel invisible and permeate all of culture. that's a big part of opensea's vision. we saw an opportunity (not without risk) to share it with VF but what that article became wildly misrepresented our industry and our own story. that's a bummer, but we'll have more shots at this - it's not the critic who counts. to create anything of significance in the world takes time, pain, mistakes, courage, the willingness to be both deeply misunderstood and disliked, and glass-chewing. luckily the glass-chewing make you stronger. onwards
