Should have swapped them back and forth in that role depending on who was producing most at the time.

@Fitzzy73 @imDazzer @HockeyWithDevin How about this: they routinely had more than 60% of the scoring chances, but didn't score. You could say that's Kasper's fault, but Debrincat - who has a 14% shooting% this season - shot just 2% at 5v5 that month.

Kasper is 22 Compher is 31 Both have been severe disappointments this season.

@m_bultman My only expectation for Faulk is that he stabilizes our second defense pairing... but I won't say no to some timely goal scoring, too!

@Dekeyser69 I don't fully agree either, but this fella isn't entirely wrong. Pygmalion Effect is a real thing, and some studies have shown that fan sentiment can influence it: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10… Does that mean that Wings fans shouldn't publicly criticize the team? Who knows?

Posts like this are so unserious. This isn’t theatre club. A lot of us fans have been supporting this team through the dark years. I’ve gone to 20+ games a year for several years and I’m tired of the players caring less than I do. I’m all for supporting underdogs but not losers

@LarsThorsell I don't think I can handle two more years of Rasmussen and Compher on this team. I sincerely hope that Yzerman buys them out or finds a team dumb enough to trade for them. I'd gladly take "future considerations" for both players.

None of the UFA:s should be back next season. That would mean JVR, Perron, Hamonic, Talbot and Kane are gone. That's three wingers, a defenseman and a goaler. I wouldn't mind if some of these guys are moved: Rasmussen, Compher and Appleton. Copp has uses. #LGRW

@MattRanck @313Hockey True, but how many players in their bottom 6 are underperforming as Red Wings relative to their previous teams? Pretty much all of them. That's not a GM problem, that's a player problem, also a culture problem, and is sometimes a coaching problem, but not in this case.

@313Hockey They have the worst bottom 6 in the league and are the worst 5 v 5 team. Thats on front office when you look at how bad this roster construction is.

They need a new goal scorer, so they get DeBrincat. They need a new coach, so they get McLellan. They need new goaltending, so they get Gibson. They need better defense, they get Faulk. Eventually, it isn’t a front office issue. Eventually, it falls on the players.

@RyanHanaWWP Larkin shouldn't be playing right now. He's clearly too hurt to be on the ice. I get that you need your captain out there during this playoff push, but at a certain point playing injured makes you a liability, not an asset.

It had to go through a real testing period. Maher’s reminder is spot on: when people rush to declare “the science is settled” and “the experts are 100% sure,” we should stay a little skeptical. Science is a process, not a final verdict. Certainty feels comforting, but history keeps showing it often needs more time and better evidence. The older I get, the more I appreciate this kind of intellectual humility. Anyone else nodding along to this? When have you seen today’s “settled science” turn out to need revision later?

@The_Mexinadian Honestly don't care for the guy, but have a lot of respect for his career. Didn't win any hardware, but that doesn't make him a loser, especially when you consider the awful teams he was on and the all-time GOATs nabbing all of the trophies during his time in the NHL.

Down playing just how good Keith Tkchuck was just because you don't like him is stupid. He's scored over 500 goals and 1000 points while also being one of the biggest tough guys in the league for 18 seasons. He was what Tom Wilson strives to be.

@ChucklesLeClown @The_Mexinadian Sure, but it's a team game, and he spent his entire career on bad teams. And he played during the same era as Lemieux, Lindros, Federov, and Gretzky. I actually see some parallels between Larkin and K. Tkachuk: very good, maybe even elite players mostly wasted on losing teams.

@insiderJmoney Not a fan of Keith Tkachuk (or his politics), but I disagree with this take. During the 90s he was definitely regarded as one of the best power forwards in the league. Just read the articles cited in the first few paragraphs of his Wikipedia entry if you don't believe me.

It’s kind of wild that Keith Tkachuk is acting like this because he won absolutely nothing as an NHLer. Every team he was on was ass or choked when the time mattered. His relevance as an NHLer is because his two nepo kids benefited from his NHL experience and rich background.

@ScatPack500hp @RedWingDiehards 100%. Wings have never moved up the draft lottery in the modern era, only down. The lottery change in 2020, when the Wings were at the bottom of the NHL standings, saw them drop from pick 1 to 4. Raymond is good, but Stützle would've been a better pick, whatever you think of him.
