A US fighter jet disabled two Iran-flagged tankers on Friday by firing precision munitions into their funnels, the US military said, demonstrating the precision of the weapons in use.

Jonathan Turley says Virginia Democrats suffered a major setback after a rushed redistricting effort was blocked, calling it a costly and damaging misstep:
“Virginia was always the gold standard for avoiding gerrymandering. The state has strict rules and a commission in place to prevent it, making it very difficult to manipulate district lines. So to push this through, they tried a rushed effort ahead of the midterm elections. But the Supreme Court of Virginia said no—we’re not going to sign off on this. This was a face-planting of legendary proportions for Governor Spanberger. She had previously assured voters she was vehemently against gerrymandering, but once elected, she shifted and supported what became one of the most aggressive redistricting efforts in the country. This resulted in a major setback for Democrats. They spent a fortune—about $64 million—to get this passed, and in the process alienated a large portion of the state.”

Over 100 people have been affected by a norovirus outbreak aboard the Caribbean Princess cruise on a voyage that started in late April, a CDC report says.
102 of 3,116 passengers (3.3%) and 13 of 1,131 crew members (1.2%) were reported ill, with symptoms including diarrhea and vomiting. The outbreak was reported to the CDC on May 7.
Princess Cruises says a limited number of individuals reported mild gastrointestinal illness.
"We quickly disinfected every area of the ship and added extra sanitizing throughout the voyage. Upon arrival to Port Canaveral on May 11, Caribbean Princess will undergo comprehensive cleaning and disinfection before departing for her next voyage."
