BREAKING: MAGA supporters shriek with rage as Pope Francis makes the historic announcement that Catholic priests can now administer blessings to same-sex couple — a seismic shift in the church's policies. This is a truly incredible decision from the pope... While Francis said that the blessings may not be part of regular Church ritual or liturgies and must not be seen as marriages, this is big news for the Church. The move is an effort to make more people feel welcome into the Church. Pope Francis has been relentlessly criticized by right-wingers and bigots for being "too liberal," but supporters say that he is finally bringing the Church into the modern era. The document that lays out the new policy states the God welcomes all. Reverend James Martin — an American priest who fiercely advocates for the Catholic Church to be more inclusive of LGBTQ believes — praised the new document as a "huge step forward" and a "dramatic shift" from previous statements from the Vatican. "The declaration opens the door to non-liturgical blessings for same-sex couples, something that had been previously off limits for bishops, priests and deacons," Martin stated. "Along with many priests, I will now be delighted to bless my friends in same-sex unions." Francis DeBernardo of New Ways Ministry, which supports LGBTQ Catholics, had similar praise— "The significance of this news cannot be overstated," DeBernardo said. "It is one thing to formally approve same-gender blessings, which he had already pastorally permitted, but to say that people should not be subjected to 'an exhaustive moral analysis' to receive God’s love and mercy is an even more significant step." Clarence Thomas needs to resign. Not only did he take lavish, undisclosed gifts from billionaires, he did so because he felt he needed to. That is the formula for corruption. Justice Thomas has brought shame upon himself, and dishonored the Supreme Court. #MondayMorning Thoughts

NEW: In 2000, Clarence Thomas was deep in debt. He met w/ a GOP Congressman & complained about his salary. The GOP started to fear he’d leave the court. In the years that followed, billionaires lavished him w/ secret gifts. propublica.org/article/claren…

Kyle McCord's Departure from Ohio State: A Misstep in Career Development and Legacy Building In the ever-evolving landscape of college football, the decision of a promising quarterback to transfer can be a pivotal moment in their career. Kyle McCord's recent decision to leave Ohio State has sparked a debate in the sports community. While the allure of immediate playing time and potentially lucrative Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals elsewhere might seem appealing, this move could be a significant misstep in terms of his long-term development and exposure. Ohio State University is not just another collegiate football program; it's a legacy, especially for quarterbacks. The position of quarterback at OSU is more than a role; it's a mantle that carries immense prestige and history. Legendary figures like Troy Smith, Braxton Miller, Justin Fields and recently, CJ Stroud, have donned the scarlet and gray, each leaving an indelible mark on the program and elevating their careers to new heights. One of the key advantages of staying with a program like Ohio State is the opportunity to compete against top-tier talent, both in practice and in high-stakes games. The Big Ten Conference is a battleground that has produced numerous NFL talents, and facing this level of competition is crucial for growth and development. McCord's decision to leave this environment raises questions about his readiness to embrace and overcome challenges, a trait highly valued at the professional level. The spotlight at Ohio State is unparalleled. The program's storied history, coupled with its consistent presence in national championship conversations, ensures that its players receive national attention. As the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes, McCord would have had the opportunity to showcase his skills on one of the biggest stages in college football, an invaluable asset for any aspiring professional athlete. While NIL deals offer immediate financial incentives, they are, in essence, a short-term play. The potential earnings as a starting quarterback at Ohio State, both in terms of NIL and future professional contracts, could far outweigh the immediate benefits of smaller deals at a less prominent program. Moreover, the brand association and networking opportunities that come with being a Buckeye quarterback extend far beyond the college years. Ohio State's vast and influential alumni network is a significant asset. Being a part of this network, especially as a notable quarterback, opens doors in various fields, from sports management to business opportunities. The connections and relationships built within this community are lifelong, offering support and opportunities well after the final whistle on the college field. In conclusion, while Kyle McCord's decision to transfer might offer some immediate benefits, it is a move that could potentially hinder his long-term development and career prospects. The opportunity to lead a program like Ohio State, to test oneself against the best, and to be part of a legacy that extends beyond the field is a rare and valuable experience that should not be underestimated. As McCord embarks on this new chapter, one can only hope that his talent finds the right platform to flourish, even if it means stepping away from the rich legacy of Ohio State quarterbacks.

I heard my mom asking our neighbor for some salt. We had salt at home, so I asked her why she was asking. She told me, “They don't have much money, and they sometimes ask us for things. So I asked for something small that wouldn't burden them. I want them to feel as if we need them too. That way, it will be much easier for them to ask us for anything they need.” Anonymous

It's pretty disgusting that Georgia has banned early voting on the Saturday before the runoff because it's the day AFTER Robert E. Lee's birthday?!? This should be a MAJOR story.

Today I might have finally learned some and seen some real use cases for Serverless. We really need bash as a language for us sysadmins. Then we wouldn’t need that cron/jump box running our glue scripts.

@mrutkowski, is there any chance you could upload your slides for eclipsecon.org/europe2019/ses… somewhere? I found them pretty interesting and would like to forward them to a few people who didn't attend the conference. Thank you!
