First of all, thank you for following me. I am a humble analyst that started my career as a young chemical engineer in the biggest refinery in Singapore at that time, then made my way into the Economics and Scheduling team, moved into a crude trading analyst position, spend a couple of years in strategy, then found my calling as the Crude and Feedstock Optimizer for the very same refining site that I grew up in. My last role before joining Sparta was the Scheduling Manager of the site. When US and Israel first launched their preemptive strikes on Iran on 28 Feb, I was distraught. I knew that the world would change from that point. What I did not realize was how bad it would become, and so quickly. However I felt strongly in my heart that I have a duty. A duty to share to the world on what it really means on the oil markets. How many people would have the similar breadth of experience as I have to comprehend the magnitude of shifts that we are about to see, both in the upstream and downstream sectors, down to how the pricing shifts as we move into different marginal economic tranches? So I put in long hours. All meant to translate to as simple terms as possible what it means to you and me. @SpartaCommo gave me the liberty to share this message, many other companies may not be able to do so. Many of you, friends and strangers, have reached out to me to state your concern on the pace that I have been pushing myself. Thank you for your kind and warm messages. You cannot imagine how many times I have cried this week, both from the stress of the job and also the worries I have for the common people in Asia. The ones that will survive in this energy crisis will be the rich nations. Those who can afford to pay more for energy. Meanwhile the people in India and Indonesia are even struggling to get LPG for cooking. It is an energy crisis never thought that could unfold in my lifetime, but it has. And it affects me so much. So yes, I cannot solve world hunger. But I will do my best to share what I can from the experience that I have. I will need to slowdown and be unable to reply to every one of your messages. In the meantime, please stay safe and take care of one another. We all need a piece of humanity in our lives now. #oott

Ten-year-old Juliana survived a terrifying encounter with a nine-foot alligator by using a clever survival technique she had learned at Gatorland theme park. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the girl was wading in Lake Mary Jane when the large alligator suddenly seized her leg and attempted to pull her underwater. In the midst of the attack, she recalled the advice given by Gatorland staff: covering an alligator’s nostrils forces the animal to open its mouth and release its grip in order to breathe. Juliana quickly shoved her fingers into the reptile’s nostrils. The alligator immediately loosened its hold, allowing her to break free. Nearby adults rushed to her aid, pulling her from the water and summoning help. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors treated her with stitches. Thankfully, she made a complete recovery. The story gained widespread attention due to the young girl’s remarkable calmness and quick thinking under extreme pressure. Gatorland representatives praised her actions, highlighting how wildlife education can prove lifesaving in real emergencies. Juliana’s experience stands as a compelling reminder that knowledge and composure can overcome even Florida’s most formidable predators.

A demonstration of static electricity illustrates how charged objects interact. Coulomb’s law provides the mathematical framework for describing the electric force between these charges. Formulated in the 18th century by French physicist Charles-Augustin de Coulomb, the law parallels Isaac Newton’s law of gravity in its structure and significance.

The roof of Karla cave in India has teak wood ribs from 160 BC. These timbers have survived 2,200 years of Indian monsoons... The great prayer hall of the Karla Caves in Maharashtra, India 🇮🇳, contains one of the most extraordinary survivals of ancient woodworking in the world: teak wood ribs installed around 160 BC, that still remain intact more than 2,200 years later. Carved into solid basalt rock during the height of early Buddhist expansion in India, the cave complex was designed to resemble the wooden architecture of earlier structures, blending stone craftsmanship with real timber elements. The massive vaulted ceiling, lined with these ancient teak beams, demonstrates the sophistication of Indian engineering and architectural planning long before the medieval era. Teak’s natural oils and resistance to insects and moisture helped preserve the wood through centuries of intense monsoon seasons, humidity, and changing climates. Karla was an important stop along ancient trade routes connecting the Arabian Sea to the Deccan Plateau, and wealthy merchants often funded Buddhist cave complexes like this one. The grand chaitya hall was used for prayer and meditation around a central stupa, creating an atmosphere meant to inspire both devotion and awe. Several inscriptions at Karla mention donations from traders, monks, and even foreign merchants known as Yavanas, Indo-Greeks connected to the Hellenistic world, showing how culturally interconnected ancient India had become through long-distance trade. #archaeohistories

The grand stone basins located at the Sun Temple of King Niuserre in Abu Ghurab, Egypt, have endured for more than 4,400 years, yet their true function eludes understanding. While it is widely accepted that they were associated with purification practices or offerings to the sun deity Ra, the specifics of their circular shape and distinctive characteristics provoke further inquiry. What accounts for their striking resemblance to high-pressure flanges found in contemporary engineering? Were these ancient constructs merely ceremonial basins, or might they have been integral to an intricate system that remains beyond our comprehension?

After 9 years… and 3 BILLION miles… we finally met Pluto For decades, Pluto was nothing more than a faint, blurry speck in our telescopes — a lonely mystery at the frozen edge of our Solar System. Then, in July 2015, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft screamed past at 30,000 mph… and completely changed everything. What we saw blew our minds: Towering ice mountains rising 11,000 feet high — as tall as the Rockies, but made of frozen nitrogen and methane Heart-shaped plains of smooth, young ice that look eerily like Earth’s polar regions A hazy blue atmosphere with drifting hazes and possible snow Active geology, possible subsurface ocean, and even dunes made of methane iceThis isn’t a dead, cratered rock. Pluto is a dynamic, colorful, living world — one that still surprises scientists years later. The wildest part? Every single pixel of these jaw-dropping images had to travel 3 billion miles back to Earth… taking over 4 hours just to arrive. From a distant dot in the sky to one of the most fascinating worlds we’ve ever explored. That’s the absolute magic of space exploration. What surprised you most about Pluto? by 1994

“Iran retains about 75% of its prewar inventories of mobile launchers and about 70% of its prewar stockpiles of missiles, a U.S. official said.” That’s an insanely high number and if accurate further calls into question what the point of this war was. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…

Plz read this. It is the systematic destruction of our future being drafted before our eyes. 🙏🏾 The Adani Group is the developer & operator of the coal Block of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). So it is Adani who wants to divert 1,742.6 hectares of prime forest and cut more 4.48 lakh trees of India’s green lung Hasdeo. Showing totally vogue reasons. They have claimed that the extension block will meet “future requirement of said projects.” This claim has been disputed by the Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan (CBA) - a grassroots movement of civil society, tribal groups and activists working to protect the forests in Hasdeo. They have cited the Central Electricity Authority has revised Rajasthan’s electricity requirements for the period up to 2035-36 to 16,561 MW from the previously projected 20,532 MW. Therefore, this very “future requirement” claim itself appears misleading. The Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan (CBA) has said that it seems to serve narrow, undisclosed interests rather than any genuine public need. Remember, saplings can never replace 100s of yrs old trees. Every such tree sustains its own ecosystem. If this monstrous capitalist hunger continues to consume the country this way, the damage will become irrecoverable. Plz start speaking up. We have already done immense damage to our future. 🙏🏾
