Another year of Week Without Walls was a huge success! Students in Div. 5, 12, & 13 spent 100% of their week learning outside! Students spent the week exploring the 4 elements and had the chance to garden, walk to the dyke, and even try some outdoor cooking!

Exploring shapes during outdoor classroom! Ss added some colour to our outdoor space by creating mosaics. How many different shapes do you see?

From looking closely at the wonders of frost & ice, to twirling in the snow and making fresh tracks, @petitsgriffons students were full of joy and curiosity on this magical snowy day! @RichmondSD38

Curiosities grew when Ss were visited by a spider in the garden. We wondered “how do spiders shoot out webs?” “where do they get les couleurs?” we investigated these questions in our spider inquiry @gilmoregriffins #sd38learn

Today, Div 12/13 students adopted their class trees. We will document our trees over the year. What gifts do the trees bring? What will they teach us? @gilmoregriffins

Inspired by Elaine McLeod’s bk, we went on a nature walk to the dyke on National Indigenous Peoples Day. Ss shared how they acknowledge the Land while exploring mindfully to observe with 👀 and 👂 lessons from earth. “Merci pour the Land for taking care of me” @gilmoregriffins
