Today, I met and congratulated our beloved former Chief Minister Sri Siddaramaiah on his illustrious, record-breaking innings leading our state.
I first met him in 1983 in my uncle’s house in Mysore (Barrister Srikantiah, who was his Law professor) when he had just been elected as an MLA. In the decades since then, he has had a remarkable, impactful career. He has endured political ups and downs but never ever wavered from his strong commitment to social justice, secularism and rationalism. Truly inspiring, especially in this day and age.
I thanked him for giving me an opportunity to work with him as Vice Chairperson of the Karnataka Policy and Planning Commission from 2023-24.
