@BCHL_Alberta Old news. 30 game schedule-1 game playoff. It's 35-40 games in the NCAA with more time in the gym to prepare. Every game is Game 7 in D1. 231 CHL players are scheduled to leave the CHL next year with Jr eligibility left and more to come.

The GM of the Saskatoon Blades agrees with the BCHL Alberta: the WHL is now in a direct competition with the NCAA for the best players between the ages of 17 and 20 and they need to quickly adapt and be open to meaningful change.

@GlennHefferan Most HS seniors are 2008's this year. Doesn't it seem reasonable that they would enter college next year? Yes. Unless a junior hockey business model needs 08's, 07's and 06's to delay college entrance by 1-3 years to keep their business model intact.

Once again, the @NCAA misses the mark. A five-year eligibility clock is reasonable, but this proposal overlooks two predictable consequences. First, athletes and their advisors will adjust high school graduation timing so the eligibility clock starts later, pushing graduation closer to age 19. Second, this creates a disincentive for academically advanced student-athletes who currently graduate at 17 and begin college coursework early while continuing their athletic development. Policies should encourage academic acceleration, not discourage it. There also does not appear to be any grandfather clauses. By the way, ncaa hockey players are among the highest graduation rates and academic success.

@coachMazzo EJ was a good league with 40ish D1 commit but all coming from the top teams while the rest weren't very good. So much outside of the league moves have happened to evaluate.
