King Charles III isn’t just a public figure. He’s the constitutional head of the Church of England. That’s not some ceremonial title you can pick and choose with it comes with a duty to uphold and visibly recognise the most important parts of the Christian calendar. Easter is at the centre of that. It’s not optional. So if that gets dropped, even once, while things like Ramadan are still being acknowledged, it raises a real question: What exactly is going on here? Is he actually fulfilling the role or quietly redefining it? When a monarch starts stepping back from core constitutional and spiritual responsibilities, it doesn’t come across as neutrality. It looks like drift. And drift at that level doesn’t stay contained. It sends a signal to institutions and to the public that even the foundations can be bent or ignored.
