IBM Model 30 [Type 8530, 8086] - 1987

@RetroTechChris I’ve seen odd ps2 and usb issues both when there’s a 5volt issue on a power supply rail. Also make sure it’s not one of those bus mouse issues. There were some that looked like a ps2 but didn’t truly work as one. They used a seperate bus card.

I picked up this cheap PS/2 mouse for a few dollars. Thought I would test it on my PS/2 Model 70 386, but it prevents the system from booting (this has happened before with other mice). It does work on my Compaq. Sadly the cord is disintegrating though. Oh well!

So back in the 1900’s when I was studying electronics my teacher stated that contrary to popular belief, devices did not run on electricity but instead ran on smoke.
