Looks like the Book386 is now a thing! I just ordered one... albeit a little cheaper than this. Can't wait to explore it! Just like Hand386 and Pocket386, it's a 386SX-40, but this has built in Ethernet. We'll see how this goes 😂

@RetroTechChris @threadreaderapp In the old days (well, not the really old days, but sort of old, like 30 years ago) we just took a "HP JetDirect" to connect a parallel printer to ethernet...
(not the plugin for a laserprinter but an actual box with parallel printer port and network)

@pe1chl @timpailthorpe Yep, those are a good solution too, but I didn't have any of those on hand. But I did have a spare raspberry pi in a drawer.

I like how it says “Quiet” on the front and still sounds like a circular saw. I dread to think what the noisy version sounds like.

And now for something a little different: I put my Panasonic 24 pin dot matrix printer on the network 😂. We can print from our phones or modern laptop computers to it.
