@IanLandsman Lol, am I missing the secret blog post where Anthropic said "Yes, you can use OpenClaw with our subscription!" As far as I'm aware, there was never any official external app support outside of the API. They literally proxied the requests and used a session from the subscription.

Hot take. Claude is doing the right thing. Give the real customers a better experience (keep infra working well for them) while ditching people having their bots loop over their calendar 100,000 times a day.

This is scary, Imagine if VRChat had that fate, and it's not even far fetched after their business report of last year's... Seeing a giant like Recroom close doors after a decade of activity, makes you think that no virtual place will ever last forever..

@zig131 @bapples367 @Hella_Faithh Epic got in trouble for bypassing billing inside the app, not for having a website. Every major game (Fortnite, Roblox) sells currency on their site that syncs to Steam/Quest. I also tried to purchase VRC+ and literally couldn't because the overlay wouldn't show up.

@teflocarbon @bapples367 @Hella_Faithh ...that VRChat don't want to touch. I get your criticism that buying VRChat Credits from inside PCVR is hard, but if people want to do it, they can. The bigger problem is that not enough of the user base want to. The free proposition is very generous.

@zig131 @bapples367 @Hella_Faithh Even regardless of that, there's still ongoing legal battles and regulatory investigations into such 'anti-steering' policies. Apple was yesterday denied a rehearing, although the jury is still out on "external fees". In short, this anti-competitive behaviour is in hot water.

@zig131 @bapples367 @Hella_Faithh They can't put a big button saying "Purchase VRC+ Cheaper on VRChat.com!" when the user is going through the Steam client, but they can absolutely have their own billing outside of Steam. If that was true, they wouldn't even be able to do Meta, Android or iOS sales.

@needle VRChat wouldn't even need to put heavy restrictions on what can be done with an avatar, they just need to make it significantly more convenient to do it through their own ecosystem, rather than the manual process of installing things onto a base through the Unity Engine.

@needle There is a massive marketplace that's outside of their bubble, Gumroad and Jinxxy has many bases and accessories with thousands of sales and VRChat gets zero cut for those. It's baffling that VRChat hasn't been able to capitalise on this in any manner.

@bapples367 @Hella_Faithh It's easy to blame Steam for how broken the overlay is in VR, but it's really up to the platform to ensure they're able to raise revenue. They have several solutions to resolve this, and so far, they've seemingly ignored them.

@bapples367 @Hella_Faithh I'm using Virtual Desktop via a Quest 3, so I do have the Steam storefront working, it just never shows up. VRChat doesn't let you purchase VRChat+ on their website, which is a frankly baffling decision. Same with credits, only through the overlay or mobile application.

@MizutamariVT Kemono is a way better aesthetic than the typical 'realistic' aesthetic that the west tries to go for typically, which just ends up looking like uncanny valley.
