I do not think anyone should love the physical exam any more than we love any other diagnostic test. We need to stop teaching this to medical students and residents.

@PrathitKulkarni I don't think this is the right way to frame the utility of the exam. The exam is a diagnostic test. The fact that a test is normal in many conditions means nothing (like, we don't care that a patient with pneumonia may have normal LFTs, right?)

Anyone remember these from elementary school PE class? Haven’t seen one in a long time. Was talking to my 13yo son about them as he’s really getting into bouldering and climbing; he’s never seen one. Where did they all go? I loved them as a kid.

@notoriousGNV Literature reported rates are low.
At @OHSUDoernbecher our peds surgeons do lap hernia repairs- and we have seen very few if any ascended testes. I have even started to do some lap repairs. @JayKrishnas @AzarowKen @unningham
