We’re investing £64m to transform Port Talbot into Wales' first floating offshore wind hub. That means 5,000 good jobs, £500m of investment and enough clean power for 6.5m homes. We are putting Wales at the heart of our clean energy superpower mission. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Loved co-op on this classic 🥰 Great times spent playing it with my sister. I just look at the cover and get the tune from the first stage in my head.

Strange seeing DF nitpick about no 120Hz in Super Mario Bros Wonder when they've gone out of their way to praise how Retro games feel (DF Retro) on a 60Hz CRT. No mention of unput lag here either. Hard to nitpick Native 4K 60FPS, but yep, they found a way lol.

Native 4K shines in the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Bros Wonder, but we'd have loved to have seen 120Hz support: digitalfoundry.net/reviews/super-…

@SymondsSally @gipsie25 The idea of importing lamb from New Zealand while having having some of the best sheep in the world in our backgarden, is absurd. But here we are.

Britain is 110% self-sufficient in lamb. Let that sink in for a moment. Not "pretty good." Not "mostly fine." One hundred and ten percent. We grow more than we eat and export the rest. We have done this on permanent upland pasture that cannot be used for anything else, managed by farmers whose families have worked the same ground for generations, using animals that have been optimised for these conditions over centuries. 85% self-sufficient in beef. 100% in milk. 90% in eggs. The animal products on your plate, if you're eating in Britain, are almost certainly British. The supply chain is: farm, abattoir, butcher or supermarket. Measured in miles. Sometimes in tens of miles. Now. Your January strawberries are from Egypt. Your year-round peppers are from Spain or Morocco. Your salad leaves are from Israel in winter. Your green beans come from Kenya. Your blueberries are from Peru or Chile. They travel by refrigerated air freight, which is roughly fifty times more carbon-intensive per kilogram than road transport, to sit in a plastic clam shell next to a small flag and the word "fresh." The environmental argument against British animal products is not an environmental argument. It is a geography argument made by people who have not checked where their food comes from. Check where your food comes from.

@MidlifeCrysis_ @EvilFuGuru Blue stinger kind of had the best of both, and I would agree with OP the devs that made RE1 probably had never worked on a 3d game before, dev might have started before ps1 launched

Hmmm , for me that’s not really accurate. I don’t want to get into a they suck, they’re great debate but they were certainly a means to and end due to the game design. Tank controls weren’t because devs hadn’t figured out 3D movement, they were a solution to fixed camera angles. If movement was camera-relative, your controls would flip every time the camera cuts. Also, Super Mario 64 already proved smooth 3D movement worked. Games like Resident Evil 2 and Dino Crisis came after and still used tank controls because of camera design, not because devs didn’t know better.

I've only had one job where I was given paid vacation. I took one week and a soon as I came back I put in my notice. Nothing shakes you out of a shitty job faster than a break from it. They know that. That's why vacation is discouraged, even if it's offered.

Imagine if in your weekly shop, you could pick up plug-in solar panels that help save on your energy bills? Well, in some parts of Europe you can do just that. We’re working with industry to bring plug-in solar to UK shops within months.

Among Steam250's data-based ranking of the top 10 best rated VR games of all time, there are two unique standouts. The first is VTOL VR at #4, a fairly obscure but brilliant flight sim that is absolutely loved by players thanks to its VR-native design. And then there's The Room VR at #10. Sure, it's part of a well known franchise, but unique in this list considering its genre as an escape room / puzzle game. All others are shooting, simulation, or extremely well-known VR originals (Beat Saber & Gorilla Tag). How did these two make it so far?

When I started Secondary school , The only computer initally was the Acorn BBC , This was then quickly replaced by the Archimedes , going from a command line to a full colour gui was so exiciting. Many of us had a copy of Lander by @DavidBraben which was quickly loaded when the teacher nipped out for a coffee.
