Augment Code
Augment Code@augmentcode·
The top question we get: what's the difference between Augment Code and Cursor? Our answer: it's all about our Context Engine. We're built for pro software teams working in production-grade (read: large) codebases. We index your repository in real time, so we can feed the most relevant information to the underlying models. Result? Better suggestions. Better Agent outcomes. Better code. Of course there's more: security, privacy, no forks, no model picker (pro software engineers are too busy shipping). But, we know it's hard to understand the difference without seeing it for yourself. So, to help you cut through the hype, we're launching a special offer for Cursor Pro users: upload your invoice, and we'll give you an additional 600 user messages (on top of the 300 in our trial!) for free. We can tell you what the difference is, but it's better if you see it for yourself. New to Augment Code, but not to AI coding? Sign up here: app.augmentcode.com/promotions/cur…

@augmentcode Powerful @augmentcode! Curious: does your generous offer extend to premium tier users from Anthropic? Such as those investing in Claude Code Max 20x ($200/month)? Clarity -> commitment.

I can 100% confirm this. Cursor is a toy compared to Augment Code. Once I tried it, I knew nothing else compares. It also excels in planning. It can write out a complete backlog with a dozen PBIs, each with more than a dozen tasks, without running out of context size. I’m using a handoff protocol that I’ve embedded in the custom settings, which allows me to go from one context session to the next without issues. For me, it’s by far the best agent-based coding solution.

@augmentcode Why do you think professional engineers are too busy to pick their own models?

@augmentcode What you have built and presented to us is the only reason that I use Cursor. Using Augment in Cursor is 10x better than using Claude 4 models alone in Cursor. It gives better and faster responses and the results are incredible. Your context engine rocks.

@augmentcode I always say augment is goated. Cursor can never compare with augment’s context engine and full 200k context window

I recently switched from cursor to augment code after the trial. At first I found that the difference was night and day but over the last week or so I have found the performance has dropped off and I get a lot more errors. I have even had to go back to cursor at times to fix things (my last month hadn’t finished and I switched to Augment anyway). Any potential insights to what may cause this?

@augmentcode Augment is my daily driver for 3 reasons: context engine, prompt refinement & native task management (new) . But it’s starting to get sloppy in the past few days. Lazy & strays more frequently. I am iterating more on tasks than i did few weeks back.

@augmentcode Your context engine is the only edge you have on your competitors. Your tool doesn't adhere to guidelines. Your documentation is lacking, and your support is nonexistent. Claude code performs 10x better in ever regard with the right mcps.

AI TOP TIER 🚀 No. 1 Directory of AI Tools
This is how you actually differentiate in a crowded AI dev tool space. Love how you focus on real-time indexing and production-grade use cases — that's the stuff that really matters for serious teams. The no-forks, no model-picker approach? Chef’s kiss. 👨‍🍳👏 This offer for Cursor Pro users is bold and smart — can’t wait to test the Context Engine in action.

@augmentcode I don't think it will be long before cursor and every other agentic coding tool does exactly the same thing @augmentcode is doing. Cursor is already 80% of the way there, the only difference is a manual request to index as opposed to real-time automated indexation.

@augmentcode This AI tool knows my codebase really well, but its code often needs multiple fixes. Given enough time, it gets there — but at $50, that's a tough sell. I love automation (self-fixing, testing, etc.), but path issues still need a human touch.

@augmentcode I am trying to purchase a paid plan with augment, there seems to be compliance issue with Indian credit cards. I m unable to make any purchases due to this. Windsurf doesn't have this issue since they use a vanilla Stripe payment gateway, can you look into this?
