What is the most obscure video game knowledge or glitch you know of

in Borderlands 2, if you were to hop off of the turret you use to shoot the door and bandits, the bandits can actually pilot it for some reason

@db_witch Ive never really heard anyone talk about it, but in the original, non special skryim, you can spam cast raise zombie to just gooify anyone. Essential NPCs, Children, anyone. I did this on an unmodded copy of oldrim

@db_witch In the original flash Binding of Isaac there was a very short lived bug on launch where sometimes blowing up a rock would spawn the Headless Horseman boss.

@db_witch MGRR bosses all have varying attacks based on the input of the player. for example, blocking this armstrong attack will result in the QTE where he flings your sword away and you punch him in the side, while not blocking it has him try to elbow drop you

@db_witch uh easy to say hard to prove. but i accidentally discovered doom 1/2's "voodoo doll" engine quirk. basically with a map editor you place more than 1 player spawn and a 2nd doom marine spawns. if they take damage the player takes it too. if a weapon bumps them you collect it

@db_witch in disco elysium i accidentally glitched it so that it's like a weird in between state where it's supposed to be night and kim's supposed to be sleeping but i triggered a special thing that forces kim to help you wake up after many hours. the time got stuck at 2 am permanently

In "Phineas & Ferb: Ride Again" (NDS), there's a glitch where you can noclip anywhere where there are two walls that meet at a 45-degree angle. Basically, Ferb's drill has a weird quirk where when you use it against a wall, it pushes you back, and you can use this to effectively noclip anywhere in the game. Be warned you may fall into a black void if you wander too far, but if that happens, move your character cursor over some land on the map and wait a few minutes, and Phineas and Ferb will reappear. This glitch can also be used to bypass the Candice cutscene in the first world and effectively make you invincible through the rest of the game.

@db_witch Before a recent patch where they apparently made Silksoar go forever, I found a spot you could silksoar through the top of the map and bug stuff out. This is the spot but this video doesn't show 100% of what I described. I lost that video.

@db_witch In Super Mario Galaxy 2, if you have two save files and both are at world 2 or beyond, you can go the first save file, gain 99 lives with The Method and then before shutting off the game, you go to the second file to get the lives from the other file so you can stock them forever

@db_witch years ago there was a bug in geometry dash where you could instantly beat any user created level only on mobile if you held both the play button and x button together then let go of them at the same time it got patched obviously but if you used this exploit ur account was banned

@db_witch In Yakuza 0, you can use one of Majima's skills to steal Jo Amon's dagger, which will kill him in one hit This skill is pretty much useless outside of this one cheese strat

@db_witch in the closed alpha for one shattered pixel dungeon update there was briefly an exploit where finding a specific item could get you theoretically infinitely leveled gear (the game is balanced around limited gear upgrades) and afaik im the only person ever to have actually used it

in counter strike: source, bullet damage was calculated by weapon, %damage on texture penetration was determined by texture type, and possible penetration depth was calculated by bullet caliber. damage loss with distance was also caliber. shotguns and scout had no accuracy loss while jumping running or standing on a ladder

@db_witch Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates on the DS is actually one of my favourite games ever, and I’ve found so many goofy exploits in it lol My favourite is that your items physically exist, so you can just drop your inventory and use them as infinite platforming 🥰

I dunno how obscure it is, but in pokemon red and blue when you spike with the old man and he showed how to catch pokemon they needed to save your name somewhere to change your name to "old man" so they stored it in the area that held pokemon in that area Normally when you enter an area it would replace the info there so there was no problem. But the coast off cinnebar island did NOT set that, so when you surf up and down that it is using the list from the last place you were in. If you spoke with the old man, flew to cinnebar island and then surf up and down the coast it would try to chose pokemon based on your name...which is generally a missingno...but if you pick the right name you can chose what pikemon show up and at what level (with sone restrictions) This is also why if you fly from the safari zone to cinnebar island and surf up and down the coast you can catch safari zone pokemon there.

@db_witch in Limbus Company, around the game's launch, sometimes the team section of the menu bugged out, replacing all your ID portraits with Level 35, Uptie 1 art using, 3 star, white border Seven Association Yi Sangs with Gregor's icon and the Support ID tag. Shown below:

@db_witch in the very very very early stages of creative mode in fortnite there were "transcendent" rarity items, which were sorta like unfinished dev items, and they were coral pink colored. for whatever reason exotic items show up as transcendent in vending machines still.

@db_witch In DDLC, if you delete Monika's file before starting a new game, Sayori freaks out and hangs herself immediately. The screen gets progressively redder over about 10 minutes if you don't enter any inputs.

@db_witch Probably not super obscure because I learned it from Summoning Salt, but asking for a bike without the bike ticket in the original Pokémon sets a flag that has text fully display without scrolling, and nothing in the game sunsets the flag

@db_witch In pokepark 2 if you stand on a specific ledge and switch between Pokémon then take a step back a few times eventually you’ll fall out of bounds

@db_witch Minecraft pocket edition, pre microsoft aquisition. There was a duplication glitch you could do with blocks of ore, holding the item to drop it out of hotbar and quickly switching to another slot (iirc) would throw out the block and duplicate it

@db_witch I said this before, but the Mauville Slateport fusion "glitch" from Pokemon emerald. only ever seen it talked about twice online, and one of those instances is lost to time.

@db_witch Tomagotchi v4.5, My brother and I discovered what's likely an overflow glitch when we were kids. If you buy a shit ton of balls from the shop, completely random and glitched items will start showing up in the shop. You can actually buy them but have to be careful or it'll crash

@db_witch In Ultrakill, you can toss your coins through walls. By itself the glitch isn't much, but it *does* have one particular use. In level 1-1, there is a secret exit in the first room, which is accessed by throwing a coin into the water fountain, as you can see below. (🧵1/3)

@db_witch In fallout new vegas dead money dlc theres a bed next to the ghoul dean which had a magazine under it. Originally it was meant to be on top of the bed but it glitched under it when shipped players then used quick save and c4 to get the magazine without cheating
