@jordienr @linear I find it AAA when a discussion is seen as a bug in the product and I just go "linear, create a bugfix issue out of this discussion" It even uses the bugs template

The @linear slack agent is incredible I was asking a team mate a question about a migration and it just decided to reply with all the info I needed perfectly formatted and with links to sources.

I think the thing with Inter is that it works as beautiful as (some) OS proprietary fonts, but it's completely free. So you get a lot out of it. It's not a silver bullet, but it's a great safe choice. Then you can look out for other combinations and styles, but Inter works great with today's UIs, add to it AI built UIs and you end with a safe and cost effective design decision

Thanks! Yeah, Inter seems to be the go-to choice for software today, and it’s free too. I wonder if that’s rational or just following the trend, or both :) I remember when Roboto was the default, and San Francisco of course. But those times seem to have faded. Understanding trend shifts and making choices like this is what I’d like to get better at.

Designers! How do engineers get better at typography? Should one start with Bringhurst right away, or is there a better, more practical way to get started? Asking for a friend 🙄

@vitalii_sazanov and every designer will probably tell you something different. No one's wrong, it's just approaches to learning. The thing most (good) designers will align on is that experience and references are key in to learning this

Style choices is experience and looking at several references, you build that sensibility with time. You can start by copying good references you like, you won't be a pro in picking fonts just by reading. You will also waste time picking too much. I would start with picking Inter and learning why specific families and styles are used for (this is the part you can learn a lot just by reading) and trying them out.

Git operations are working. Just tested push, pull, merge, clone, and a few others. Its fast. Next? Probably some UI cleanup.

@alexisbchz to me, people are secretly jealous of PHP and are just repeating the bloating outside PHP

bun is on the verge of becoming the most bloated runtime ever (don't get me wrong, i love bun)

@0matm @rauchg Agree on the contrast and visual hierarchies note. My eyes have a hard time figuring out where I am in the interface; sections bleed together

I'm not the biggest fan of Vercel's UI, but honestly? I would sign up for it, at least the things I want when entering a repository are all there within reach
