It's been a very long time since I saw a Telugu movie fully set in Chennai. #CoupleFriendly captures the city really well, the buildings, roads, Chennai Central, Marina. Also getting both hero and heroine to speak in Tamil. Till the 80s most Telugu movies were shot in Chennai, it's only when the studios shifted to Hyderabad, they started shooting here. But most old Telugu cinema studios, actors still remained in Chennai. Most of the Telugu stars are fluent in Tamil, not just older ones, but even among current crop like Prabhas, Allu Arjun. One more thing in the movie, hero is from Nellore, heroine is from Chittor dt. Both these are close to Tamil Nadu, and people from these 2 places go to Chennai for job, study, work. In fact most Telugus in Chennai are predominantly from Nellore, Chittor, Tirupati. Movie was good, nice feel good love story with a bitter sweet ending. Santosh Shobhan was good, Manasa Varanasi is a great find, looks lovely, acts well, expressive face.
