Sorry for getting all my analysis wrong. The war was a resounding success! Iran will now open the Strait of Hormuz that was open before the war started The same Strait the U.S. could have opened, but asked NATO to help open, and NATO refused to open, and now Trump is threatening NATO for not opening the Strait that was open. We also executed a soft launch of the new and improved Iranian regime, swapping Khamenei Sr for Khamenei Jr and locking in another 40-50 years of continuity. Oh, and we liberated the Iranian people after threatening to erase their entire civilization. We didn't wipe their country off the map, so technically, we saved them from ourselves. You're welcome Iran. Lastly, we brought peace to the Gulf that had peace before the war, and we could not bring peace to Lebanon that didn't have peace before the war

Here’s what most millennials fail to understand: There is no guarantee that the economy will experience the same level of growth that occurred during your parents’ or grandparents’ time. In fact, it’s quite unlikely. The fact that nearly every asset and good is near all-time highs is not a coincidence. It’s the result of parabolic monetary expansion, and boomers were ideally positioned to benefit from it - and in many ways, were the orchestrators of this phenomenon. They own real estate, metals, stocks, and businesses. All have benefited tremendously from inflation. But given where markets stand now, “I’ll sell one asset and buy another” is not a reliable investing strategy. One way to benefit from this environment is to offer services to boomers and price them at a premium, or to have a highly specialized, well-paying job. If everything is in a bubble, your services can be too. But even then, you’re operating in the most competitive environment ever. Young adults today aren’t just competing with each other - they will soon also face competition from artificial intelligence. So don’t feel discouraged if you think you’re not doing as well as your parents did at your age. It is most definitely not all your fault. The path to success and wealth today is much more difficult. Boomers may reject this idea, but these are the realities. You won’t achieve generational wealth simply by avoiding that avocado toast. They built their path to success and, in many cases, closed the door behind them. As a result, younger generations are more anxious, more addicted, and more depressed than ever. Those who are fortunate may benefit from inheritance. Rest of us will have to compete in the trenches to death - and already are. I'm sorry.

Caleb Hammer reveals his biggest money mistake was buying rental properties instead of investing in the market “I made decent money, but I would have made so much more money by just being in the market instead of focusing on that. My rental properties back in my home state, I am fully exiting them and just putting the money in the market.”

Quick Kuala Lumpur review 🧵 * Horrible weather. Muggy, hot. Might be worse than Bangkok. * Questionable city planning. One of the few big Asian big cities where I wish I had a car. Some streets are difficult and dangerous to walk through. * Grab (Southeast Asia's Uber) usually takes a long time to come. Probably not enough drivers + bad traffic. * Heavy-flavor and calorie-dense foods abound. I am a fan but know I'll gain hella weight if I were to live there (love bak kut teh, durian, and satay especially). Not surprised that the average Malaysian seems a bit on the pudgier side. * The Malaysian Chinese are secure in their identity, as I discussed in the quoted post, and I really respect that and think every Chinese can learn from them. * I know racial tensions and conflicts have been big in Malaysia for a long time (which probably is the main reason why the Chinese are extra cooperative and proud there), but people seem to coexist fairly well in KL in 2026. Felt the same about Penang when I was there last May. Hell, Malaysians even invented a term, "Kongsi Raya", which denotes Chinese New Year and Eid ul-Fitr (end of Ramadan) coinciding, leading to big simultaneous multicultural celebrations.

This past weekend was my second time in Malaysia, and again I came away feeling impressed with how the Malaysian Chinese uphold and guard their culture with pride. It is a week away from Chinese New Year. Red and gold Chinese decorations and upbeat Chinese music abound in Kuala Lumpur, not just in Chinatown but all over malls and Chinese restaurants as well. The female staff in my favorite durian shop all wear red qipao uniforms. Billboard and radio ads further contribute to the festive feeling of CNY. Contrast this to Taiwan. It seems to be going through another normal week. The result of de-sinicization here is stark. Many Taiwanese locals I personally know, they’d happily attend k-pop & Coldplay shows, glaze F1 drivers, or make a gajillion trips to Japan each year, but celebrating their own culture feels like pulling teeth. I respect the Malaysian Chinese folks. They’re not even a majority in KL (40%) or Malaysia (22%), and the vast majority (>90%) immigrated to the country over 100 years ago. They don’t worship Anglos like Hong Kongers or Singaporeans even though all of them were subjected to British colonization. They don’t surrender their root culture nor behave obsequiously to please foreign masters like many Chinese do in America and Europe (or even the ones that live in the Sinosphere). Every Chinese person can learn a lot from them.

My thoughts on video games vs touch grass (and I don't think it's a binary thing necessarily) Lots of games today are too simple and easy They're focused on giving you the illusion of control and the illusion of progress. As long as you put in time and or money, you'll improve

@TheBootMex Apart from a strategic plan, e.g, resume trading; look at life beyond just the money you've had. Perhaps rest at the knowledge that you're still young and this is one of the chapters of an amazing life which you cld create.

I know time heals from XP but I wonder if there is a way to cope more efficiently. I'm on Bali, literally a paradise, did rafting yesterday, ATV riding today but even during those I only think about this situation and how I should have withdrawn everything earlier. Ideas?

There I was, surfing the wave of waves, next moment wiped out, board broken, rocks reefs everywhere The sudden pain of business failure and loss of purpose, as a golden child of the industry + biz cycle more broadly, was as difficult as the ensuing ostracization and demonization

Can't help but worry about the direness of the situation millenials are in. Going through three "once in a lifetime" crises with mounting debt and no investments or savings Growth slowing, liquidity drying, opportunities to build wealth decreasing. When will they catch a break?

At Token2049 in SG this week. This place is crowded. Over 7k attendees, countless booths, and dozens of after parties with free-flowing alcohol. We are supposedly in month 10 of a bear cycle. I think we are in for some tough times next year. People don't feel poor at all YET.
