@MrinalPande1 Being Punjabi, never said dahi jamti hai ? Always masculine, so dahi rakha hai, jam gaya hai. But goes against the rule, maybe an exception. What i find funny is that Pepsi is feminine and coke/thums up is masculine 🤣

@manaman_chhina I remember Kasauli hills on fire in 1984. The hills burnt for days on end. You could see clearly from Chandigarh how widespread the fire was.

The fire behind the iconic Kasauli Club has been controlled for now by the Army columns deployed by the local Brigade and IAF helicopters along with volunteers. Saw the Brigade Commander and other officers monitoring the situation on ground.

@themodernhp Road to Shimla is 4 lane road. Not a narrow single village road. Bit overreacting.

🚨 A video shared online showing a semi-sleeper bus in Solan, reportedly en route to Shimla, raises an important discussion around road safety. Semi-sleeper buses may work better on long, straight highways and plain terrains, where roads are wider and driving conditions are more predictable. But Himachal’s hill roads are a different challenge altogether — narrow stretches, sharp bends, steep gradients, deep gorges, and changing weather conditions leave very little room for error. Comfort is important, but on mountain routes, safety and suitability of the vehicle should always come first. 🚌

On my first day in Paris, at an unjustly famous pastry shop near Place de la Concorde, I unleashed a series of French sentences memorised from the back of my Lonely Planet upon a bewildered attendant, only for him to respond, "Sir, it will be easier if you spoke in English."

I am deeply concerned about the terrorist attack that took place today. This is not an isolated incident. It is the latest in a spate of utterly vile attacks on the Jewish community. I’ve just chaired an emergency COBR meeting and tomorrow I’ll be bringing together criminal justice agencies to ensure we have effective and swift justice.

The antisemitic attack in Golders Green is utterly appalling. Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain. Thank you to Shomrim, Hatzola and the police for acting swiftly. Those responsible will be brought to justice.

Indians who live outside India, what do you take back from India when traveling? My list, roughly: Spices (big one), Indian teas, Indian coffees, Faith/spiritual goods, Medicines, Kama ayurveda essentials, Some utensils, Clothing, Indian festive wear, and this time I'm adding a couple pharma sunscreens I wanna try and see if they fare better for being Indian skin specialised. And oh - mysore pak :)

This house is less than ₹5cr (£0.5M). Less than 30min commute to anywhere in central London. Indian property markets makes no sense to me after seeing the market here 🥲 (+ has huge backyard, kids can play football in)

@HVSBanwait These chairs were everywhere in 70s and 80s, in govt offices, in schools, dispenseries. Everyone took it for granted. Not knowing what value they were and replaced by chairs made out of steel tubes and cane back ans seating. These wooden ones were burnt wholesale on lohri.😪
