@SpartaH269 @VadimYuryev What would you say are trade offs between chiplets and monolithic chips?
English

@VadimYuryev The multi-chiplet GPU has a lot of advantages but I am curious to see if it scales in gaming as well as a monolithic/single GPU chip, like the M4 Max vs the M4 Pro (i am aware Mac are not gaming devices). The M Ultra do not scale terribly in gaming versus the Max for example.
English

@VadimYuryev Nice Apple embracing chiplets like AMD and Intel now.
Much less cost and less dies wasted
English

@HakodaPrince @VadimYuryev Trade offs for chiplets vs the usual single wafer design?
English

@VadimYuryev they’re finally doing chiplet designs, this is gonna be cool

An idea for a deal between NWSL/USL-SL/NSL and NCAA woso
Pro leagues agree to support individual colleges with $X if they accept invite to participate in “Spring Season”
Negotiated terms and season structure

@MALGIS31 @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico I misunderstood when you wrote:
“But most important is make the local games available to local markets. Find a way to do that.”
English

@ACDCNLA @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico You started this by saying there were no blackouts.
The more platforms your league is on the more likely it will be for fans, and potential new fans can find them. That’s one of the reasons the Apple deal was harmful. It hid their product.
English

SCOOP: Details of @MLS's revised @Apple deal
- Now ends in June 2029 (3.5 years early)
- Apple no longer holds 2027 opt-out
- MLS gets: $200M in 2026, $107M for 2027 "sprint" season, $275M each in final two seasons

@MALGIS31 @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico Blackout doesn’t matter. I understand you meant finding local games in local markets
The local games are available, but I now get that you’re saying no one really knows where to find them. No one really knows the games are on AppleTV, and it’s a good point. I think you’re right
English

@ACDCNLA @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico We are 3 years in and still no one knows they are on Apple. Viewership is a fraction of what it was before.
Please explain what you think a blackout is. Still waiting on that.
English

@MALGIS31 @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico More difficult to find?
Every game is listed in AppleTV and can be watched right then by selecting it
Do you mean more difficult to find the game within AppleTV?
English

@ACDCNLA @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico They were already available in local markets before Apple & with better flexibility.
Apple just lowered the quality and made them more difficult to find.
So tell me what your definition of a blackout is. Again I never had a game blacked out before Apple.
English

@MALGIS31 @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico Local games are available to local markets. Every Galaxy and LAFC game can be watch in Los Angeles
Is that what you meant by make local games available to local markets? Or something else?
English

@ACDCNLA @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico If your definition of local blackouts is any game that is not available anywhere then by your definition there were no local blackouts before Apple as all you needed was to get the local station or RSN the game was on.
But the fact is before Apple I never had a game blacked out.
English

@MALGIS31 @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico There are no local black outs
Just sign up for AppleTV+ and you get every single game. No blackouts anywhere
English

@RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico Just get games on every platform.
But most important is make the local games available to local markets. Find a way to do that.
English

@SoberlySoccer @eddiemikus @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico They announced MLS Season Pass will go away
All games to everyone on AppleTV+
AppleTV+ still paid like Peacock or Paramount+, but MLS will be included. No more Season Pass or any other cost
English

@eddiemikus @RichNairn9 @novy_williams @MLS @Apple @JacobFeldman4 @Sportico hmmmm, I doubt it...besides, it's still an Over-The-Top, (very) hard paywall.
English

Why is NBC Sports Network coming back? And what's up with USA Sports' recent rights acquisitions?
I delve into it all for @Sportico: sportico.com/business/media…
Here's the cheatsheet version.

English

While Saturday marked Gotham’s second NWSL championship in three years after winning in 2023, it is the first under the controlling ownership of Carolyn Tisch Blodgett sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2025/…
English

@ACDCNLA @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf Her new ACFC deal was on 300k range
She got what was reported as a small but significant raise. 33% would seem to fit
& no transfer fee does not equal salary
But usually is indicative
If AT salary was close to 1M then fee would have 2.5M ish
English

A week after Alyssa Thompson's move to Chelsea induced panic in some #NWSL circles, #USWNT head coach Emma Hayes was in New York to address the elephant in the room with the league's board.
On the changing global landscape and cycles of player migration:

English

@DrPhilDP @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf So transfer fee roughly equals salary?
$2M fee so ~$2M contract for Alyssa (over 5 years)?
Might be the rough math in general, but as a naive American I think there’s no way AT gets paid that little
Unless…in addition to the “salary” Chelsea arrange marketing deals. Big ones
English

@ACDCNLA @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf It’s not disclosed but based on what her ACFC salary was & it was disclosed she got a significant pay bump combined with transfer fee that has incentives worth up to 2M it’s a 5 yr deal
Typically on transfers of such fee is close to contact value & pay bump makes it roughly 400k
English

@DrPhilDP @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf Your point stands, but cap is $3.3M this year and will be over $3.5M next year. Maybe much more but it depends on the owners
Where have you gotten info about AT’s salary?
English

@bloop1985 @ACDCNLA @JeffKassouf Not going up even close to enough to stay competitive
You think 200k more would have kept Girma or AT?? Nope!
2.5 M when players can earn
Bonmati over 1M
Kerr 1/2 M
Viv 400k
Alexia 3/4 M
Girma 1M
AT 400k
How can NWSL compete with 2.5 in cap?
They can’t
Kerr,AT, Girma = almost 2 M
English

@bloop1985 @DrPhilDP @JeffKassouf Ii meant Emma’s salary. She is get paid so much, she cannot afford to worry about NWSL
English

@DrPhilDP @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf @NFL @NWSL I think Alyssa forced her way off the team because AngelCity’s roster risked her development
She was the best player on the team at 20 years old. Everyday in practice the players around her were much worse than the players around her at USWNT camp
Rodman won’t want that either
English

@ACDCNLA @bloop1985 @JeffKassouf @NFL @NWSL They could have kept AT, she wanted to go & ACFC can’t pay players compensation that’s competitive to what is available to top players for top 6 teams in Europe
No limit on how many🇺🇸NT players they can have
They dumped salary including AT to make a big swing. It’s LA ⭐️ matter
