The most challenging part of having a kidney transplant is often not finding a donor or raising money for the surgery itself, but being able to afford the lifelong medications needed after the transplant. I have seen many kidney patients who had successful transplants but later struggled because they could no longer afford their post-transplant medications. If you go on TikTok, you will find countless videos of people sharing these heartbreaking experiences. It is so sad that we do not have a government system that adequately subsidises these life-saving medications. A successful transplant should be the beginning of a new life, not the start of another financial battle. @instablog9ja and @yabaleftonline, these people need help, and the Nigerian government needs to step in. Without access to their post-transplant medications, it is either the transplanted kidney fails or they die from complications. No one should survive a kidney transplant only to lose their life because they cannot afford the medications that keep them alive. @Fmohnigeria
