@BBGreatMoments I would like to to see ABS on some of the 90s guys. Yes the accuracy was pinpoint but they were they also benefiting from getting the call if they hit their spot. Would be less walks today with this zone
English

@BUBruinBaseball Awesome stuff! The guys deserve it with how they are playing this year!
English

@CoachNiten @NAIABall Basketball and football have much stronger cases. Baseball just isn’t as deep has it has been in the past.
English

@TopVelocity Brent, I agree with this, but it is also important to emphasize the difference between top velo and average velo. There are many high schoolers that touch 90+ but they can’t sit anywhere near it. That’s why training (like TopVelocity) is so important. Build the base that can last
English

If your son is a pitcher trying to get recruited:
The school doesn't care about his ERA right now.
They care about his ceiling.
Ceiling = velocity potential.
A pitcher who throws 84 and shows 90 in a bullpen with elite mechanics gets recruited.
A pitcher who throws 84 with flat mechanics stays home.
Raise the ceiling → topvelocity.org/player-registr…
English

@j0ew00ds @Michaelfiore This is also why many high school players that “throw 90” don’t get the offers they want. Yes they can hit the number but it’s a max intent throw. Avg velo > top velo
English

@j0ew00ds @Michaelfiore This is 100% true. There is also a difference between throwing a given velocity and sitting that velocity with low stress. The best starters I played with would sit 92-93 but had 96 in the tank. Other guys could get up to 92-93 but with too much stress to recover quickly.
English

Pro athletes are literally built differently. I went to high school with 2 successful MLB pitchers. Craziest story came from freshman year:
During tryouts, one of the tests they had us do was to see how far we could throw a baseball. We walked out to the football practice field and lined up in the end zone.
I threw 60-65 yards. Then a kid (the future pro) threw a ball out of the other end zone.
As. A. Freshman.
Every coach stopped what they were doing, handed him another ball and said “do it again”. And he did.
By sophomore year he was throwing in the mid to upper 90’s. You cannot teach that kind of arm talent. You’re either born with it or you’re not. I was not.
English

@nextlevelbb I understand that the technology is different but how exactly did the old system measure it at the plate? If there is a gun behind the catcher how would it just know to pick the ball up at the plate. I do agree the old guns will read slower
English

All the same guys that would have been 89-90 if velocity was measured at the plate and not out of the hand.
The hitters are seeing 89-90 at the plate and that's why so many runs are scored in college baseball.

@pitchingschool Mechanics look very clean. Ceiling will be very high. One thing I don’t understand is it seems like he gets good ride from the video but the metrics suggest more of a sinker profile (a dang good sinker at that)

2028 RHP Matt Ramsey (Hoban HS) is the real deal.
✅Fastball up to 90 this off-season and commands four pitches for strikes.
⚔️Earned a varsity role as a freshman.
🥊Competes every pitch, every inning.
🏋️Last one out of the weight room.
⚡️Highly coachable and driven to get better.
This is what a next-level arm and makeup looks like.
Coaches: Get on that phone this summer.

@Rivals @DawgsHQ @ugasportscom @CharlesPower @ChadSimmons_ @samspiegs @CodyBellaire @TimWatts_BOL @_Cainer @AndrewJBone @Brent_Hubbs How is Tennessee consistent near the top of recruiting but cant seem to put it together. It’s not like the coaching is bad it just seems like they consistently underperform with the talent they have

@ByuSome Outside of the Vandy game it’s a fairly similar resume to Tennessee. Don’t have many good wins but stayed in the games against some great teams. Not sure who would jump them
English

@JoeyWahler @BenVerlander I’m not disagreeing but part of what makes big leaguers so good is the ability to mix pitches and tunnel. Sure their fastballs may have better shapes and a touch more velo but was impressive to see professors in their 40s-60s even making contact.
English

@ATCBball @BenVerlander If the criteria is average guy off the streets vs a random big leaguer, out of 100 pitches I think most wouldn't even foul tip one. I think that'd even be true if it was 100 breaking or off speed pitches.
English

@JoeyWahler @BenVerlander In college we had a thing where professors tried different sports and so for baseball they had 5 at bats each against a live arm. Granted the arm was no big leaguer but was 92-94 that day and there were some foul tips. Two balls put in play and one was hit decently hard
English

@BenVerlander They'd have the same number of hits as the difference it'd make it they knew what's coming. Zero. In fact, they'd also make contact, even with a foul ball, that same number of times. Zero.
English

@MSUEaglesBsball What was the average velo for this fall?
