@AaronChaplain

I'm a Christian who loves my family and spends a lot of time reading and writing about prison ministry.

Supporting religious freedom is not suggesting that all religions are equally true. That is logically impossible, since religions make exclusive claims. However, we can love our neighbor enough to allow them the same freedom of conscience that we enjoy.

@TomBuck God cleanses and forgives pedophiles. Should our daughters marry pedophiles?

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.

@JoelWebbon When I first started in corrections, my supervisor told me, "a federal judge works in a building made of marble. He has no clue about real life." I have since seen this proven true.

If a judge releases a criminal who ends up committing murder, both the criminal and the judge who released them must be publicly executed.

@v20e26e My question is about the graffiti I see on train cars. How does the person run fast enough to keep painting?

I thought the bible at least would be about good people doing good things. But the characters commit a major sin in the very first book??

I haven’t roasted any coffee in a while. I was recently gifted some world-famous overpriced Kona coffee direct from Hawaii. Brewed it. Tasted it. It was just okay. Conclusion: I need to get back to roasting my own coffee.

I am attending an Iftar dinner tonight. I won't be participating in prayers nor will I be expected to participate. Those that invited me know I am a Christian so there is no need to cosplay as a Muslim. A multifaith approach is far better than an interfaith approach when it comes to chaplaincy.

@DavidAFrench Perhaps the problem is that you labeled something a cultural issue, when it is rightly a matter of decency and indecency.

There are a lot of evangelicals on this website who seem to strongly believe that no person can disagree with them on cultural issues and also be a decent person. This is the mirror image of the hyper-woke left, which also rejects the idea that decent people can disagree. 1/3

@Protestia NDA's seek to keep that which is done in the dark, in the dark. Christians should be about the light that exposes such things!

I’m on the 17th floor, but there’s no 13th floor, so maybe I’m on the 16th floor. However, there’s a lobby and a lower lobby so maybe floor 17 is floor 17 after all. In other words, I’m in the elevator.

Repentance is not remorse. Remorse feels bad about consequences. Repentance turns from the sin itself. Judas had remorse. Peter had repentance.

@BrandonLansdown Our system of turning a blind eye to illegal immigration in order to get cheap labor is not treating them the same, anyway. It puts them at great risk and is abusive. It is neither kind nor loving.

Sojourners are not equal to invaders. Piper should know this. This is either ignorance or wickedness. I hope it's the first, but that really isn't much better. Either way, you shouldn't listen to it.
John Piper@JohnPiper

“You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:34 Christians know the miserable bondage we were all in.

@dalepartridge Illegal immigrants don't get treated as the native among us. They don't have the protections that workers who are here legally have. For that reason (among others) it is not loving or kind, nor obedient to this scripture, to turn a blind eye to those violating immigration law.

I love Dr. Piper, but this folly must stop. To correlate these instructions to Israel with the circumstances facing America is simply irresponsible theology. Israel was never expected to allow such a number of foreigners that it would overtake the existing population, replace the Jewish people, their culture, or import paganism. America is facing national theft through demographic replacement. Foreigners are violating the eighth and tenth commandments by coveting our land and envying our children’s inheritance. They are stealing from us and exterminating us through systematic assault. Immigration without biblical assimilation is a form of invasion. To apply the scriptures of orderly and just immigration to the chaotic and evil immigration of our day is not befitting of a man of Piper’s theological prowess.
