@AcademicAngry Our contest has evolved over the years, as we aim to feature beautiful images (by incredible researchers!) beyond stem cells. Now, submissions of human- or animal-derived cells are accepted.
The results are in! 🏆 Here are the winners of this year's #StemCellfie Contest:
Grand Prize: @AndreannaBurman (left)
Newcomer: Jan Cheng (top right)
STEMCELL Employee Vote: Thea Guy (bottom right)
Having now been a reviewer for several MDPI journals I can say so with confidence these journals are AWFUL! They will publish anything for a quick buck- do yourself a favour and do not even consider them.
A hopefully uncontroversial, non-hot take:
Giving your students grace when the world is falling apart doesn't make you a less rigorous or effective teacher, it makes you human.
Normalize describing all methods in a paper, even if they were done "as described in [16]."
Because [16] did it "as described by [9]", and [9] cites an abstract from the 70s that is unavailable. 🤦♂️
