Canadians have got to be one of the most easily programmed people on earth. The media simply has to tell them who to dislike & the groupthink hordes take shape. It’s sad.

Putting “America first” should not mean attacking your closest allies. Trump has threatened Canada with tariffs, talked about using “economic force” to make Canada the 51st state, and repeatedly damaged trust with Canada and Europe. That is not leadership; that is bullying allies who helped build North American security and trade. On Canada specifically, his tariffs were justified with claims about drugs and migrants crossing the northern border, but those claims were heavily disputed. He also threatened a 100% tariff if Canada made a trade deal with China, and recently even suggested the US might not renew USMCA, a trade deal that supports about $1.6T in annual North American trade. So no, this is not simply “Canada’s fault.” Canada has problems, yes, but Trump’s approach has created instability, higher costs, damaged alliances, and made Canadians rethink their relationship with the US. That is not “putting America first”; it is making America less trusted.
