The Government is quite rightly standing up for the sovereignty of Denmark over its own territory, but yet the same Government continue to endorse the subjugation of Northern Ireland under the jackboot of the EU and by extension the hostile Irish Government. Unionism needs to once again bring political pressure to bear on this issue. And that means returning to the position that unless and until NI’s place in the Union is fully restored, consistent with Article 6 of the Acts of Union, there will be no power sharing. And yes, that does mean if it’s a choice between implanting the Irish Sea border or no Executive, then the choice must always be no Executive. By implementing the Irish Sea border, unionism is giving it a veneer of legitimacy. Power sharing or Protocol, never both.
