Loyola freshman Sheridan Gorman, 18, was shot and killed this morning in Rogers Park. But Chicago Mayor Johnson says the city is safe. Sheridan was walking with friends near a beach near Loyola's Lakeshore campus. As a Loyola alum, this hits especially hard.

A heavily armed robbery crew struck 3 more times yesterday — twice in River North, once on the Near West Side.
CPD says it's the same crew that has been hitting the Mag Mile-area repeatedly this month, carrying rifles and likely driving a Maserati SUV.

FF/EMT Michael Altman of Truck Co. 47 was injured yesterday while fighting a residential fire in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Today, FF/EMT Altman succumbed to his injuries. We are asking for prayers for the entire Altman family & the CFD family during this trying time.
