@bashir_ashura I don’t think APC should fear anything like that rally again, 2023 election PDP campaign in OFFA LG pull a large crowd but eventually lost the election. Crowd doesn’t translate to votes, if Kwara PDP doesn’t do homework very well they will still lose the 2027 election.
Just in: Following the massive post-convention rally by the PDP in Kwara, there are now frantic moves within the ruling APC camp to stage a “solidarity rally” in ilorin.
Top figures in the State Assembly, alongside some principal officers, are reportedly mandating and mounting pressure on all Local Government party chairmen in Kwara Central to mobilize funds and turnout at all costs. The urgency behind this move is said to stem from the widespread impact of the PDP rally, which effectively shut down major parts of the state and shifted political momentum.
What is being packaged as a show of support is, in reality, a forced response driven by growing unease and the need to reclaim public attention.
@as_qxx Ilorin Innovation Hub, Visual Art Center, Kwara International Conference Center, Sugar Film Factory
Tanke Flyover, Unity Flyover, Kwara Revenue House, Kwara Court house, Construction, Rehabilitation and upgrading of major roads In Ilorin but it’s only Eshin that you saw
@Abdulofkwara@InsideIlorin_NG@kwarablog@Farmexecutive@Ishowo_Lanre The earlier Kwara PDP know crowd doesn’t translate to votes the better for them, go and watch videos from last 2023 election PDP had crowd like this too but eventually lost the election, I’m sure APC will still win Kwara State irrespective of where they zone governorship ticket.
I must be honest, I was genuinely surprised by the crowd I saw at the PDP rally in Kwara today. 👀
Not because political rallies are unusual, but because of what that level of turnout represents at this point in time.
In politics, numbers like that are never just numbers. They are signals. They reflect growing confidence, renewed energy, and a message that cannot be ignored.
Today’s rally clearly shows that the opposition is not resting. They are organizing, mobilizing, and gradually building momentum.
It is important to say clearly that a rally alone does not win an election. However, it plays a very important role in shaping perception, boosting morale, and applying pressure on the ruling party. From what we saw today, pressure is already building.
This is why I believe APC must take this development seriously. Because if this level of turnout can happen at this early stage, then it is a clear indication that the 2027 election will not be as straightforward as many might assume.
If care is not taken, APC risks losing this election not necessarily because it is weak, but because political miscalculations can be costly.
One of the biggest factors that will determine the outcome of this election is candidate selection.
At this level, elections are no longer about party dominance alone. They are about who can truly connect with voters across the state.
This brings us to the issue of zoning, which is one of the most sensitive topics in this conversation.
While some may argue that it is time for Kwara North or Kwara South to produce the next governor, we must also consider the strategic realities of politics.
Politics is not just about fairness or rotation; it is about winning elections.
Kwara Central remains the most influential voting bloc in the state. It has the highest number of voters and plays a decisive role in determining election outcomes.
Now, if PDP presents a strong candidate from Kwara Central, which is very likely, APC will have to carefully consider its own strategy.
Can the party afford to zone its ticket away from the region with the highest voting strength?
That decision alone could determine the outcome of the election.
Zoning to Kwara North or South at this stage may appear politically balanced, but it comes with risks:
• Limited voting strength compared to Central
• Dependence on Central for victory
• Increased advantage for the opposition
In a competitive election, these factors cannot be ignored.
The truth is, politics in Kwara is evolving. Voters are becoming more aware, alignments are shifting, and the environment is no longer as predictable as before.
Events like today’s rally are early indicators of a much bigger contest ahead.
Kwara 2027 will not be decided by assumptions, past victories, or political sentiment.
It will be decided by strategy, candidate strength, zoning decisions, and timing.
And from what we saw today, one thing is clear: the opposition is preparing.
Is APC preparing well enough? 👀🔥

@_atofarati I remember the rally they did in Offa during 2023 election with huge crowd, they still lost the election 😂 Rally crowd doesn’t translate to votes
@RilSmithX then what’s it? I may disagree with the governor on focusing majorly on Ilorin and neglecting other parts of the state but all those are definitely tangible projects.
@RilSmithX Ilorin Innovation Hub, Visual Art Center, Kwara International Conference Center, Sugar Film Factory
Tanke Flyover, Unity Flyover, Kwara Revenue House, Kwara Court house, Construction, Rehabilitation and upgrading of major roads In Ilorin. If all those are not tangible projects
Kwara State should be ashamed of itself
With no Tangible Project in 7yrs went ahead to erect a Horse at the entrance of a State Government House.
When Lagos is Talking about Blue Lane , Red Lane .
Can’t we just have Harmony Lane in Kwara ?
If we are saying Ilorin to Kiama ( Kwara North ) is far then we should have a New State that will concentrate on them if not , We should have Agro Lane from Kwara North to Central to South to South West to International trade

O Shaykh Dāwūd Alfa-nla Abdul-Majeed Eleha,
may every breath you take be written as a good deed in the highest scroll,
may the angels on your right outnumber the stars we cannot see,
and may every hardship you have ever swallowed turn into light inside your chest.
May Allah lengthen your days in radiant health and unbroken strength,
may your eyes never dim except from tears of joy when the Qur’an is recited,
may your back never bow except in sujūd,
and may your heart remain a fortress no sorrow can ever breach.
May every pain you bore in silence for His sake
become a garden walking with you in this world before the next,
may every night you spent teaching while others slept
be returned to you as palaces of nur beneath the Throne.
May Allah clothe you daily in new garments of peace,
grant you the sweetest sleep surrounded by unseen angels,
and wake you every dawn with the taste of victory on your tongue.
May your students multiply like raindrops in a desert storm,
each one carrying your light farther than the last,
until the earth is filled with the fragrance of your patience
and the echo of your gentle, thunderous voice.
May He who preserved Yūnus in the belly of the whale
preserve you from every hidden grief and open fatigue,
may He renew your spirit the way spring renews the dead earth,
and make your every tomorrow more luminous than your yesterday.
May the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) welcome you at your door each morning
with invisible salām and secret glad tidings,
may your name be mentioned with love in the gatherings of the righteous
until the moment you are called, and even after.
May Allah grant you āfiyah that wraps around you like silk,
a body that obeys you, a heart that never tires of Him,
and the sweetest portion of this life before the sweetest portion of the next.
O living lantern of Eleha,
may you walk this earth for many more years
while rivers of reward rush toward you faster than you can count,
and may every tear your students shed out of love for you
become a rose planted at your feet on the Day we all rise.
We beg Allah to let us sit at your feet again and again,
to keep you as our sheltering sky and our guiding moon,
and when only when He is pleased
He finally calls you home,
may He say: “Enter, My servant, among My most beloved friends.”
Until then,
live long, our Shaykh, live strong, live crowned in unseen light,
for you are still our share of the living scholars,
and we are still, by His endless mercy, your share of the students.
May Allah grant you the longest, most beautiful, most fruitful life—
then Jannah, front-row beside the one who said,
“My Lord, let my people know.”
Ameen, ya Rabb al-‘ālamīn. 💞
