5 years ago when I started coding, I dreamed about building my own chess game. This weekend I finally did it. 3D board, marble textures, pieces casting shadows in a park scene. Younger me would be losing his mind right now.

Some people are pushing back on @linear's agentic approach, but @usekaneo wouldn't exist without it. I used Linear and wanted something simpler. Competition is great.

I really like Linear, but I decided to unsubscribe last month. I simply don't need to pay $200/yr for managing what is now mostly transient .md files for an agent. And everything in this announcement is already built-in functionality in all coding agents.

Writing your task is 90% of the work, so this period, I focused on making that experience more fluid in @usekaneo. Now you can have: - Codeblocks with syntax highlighting - YouTube embeds - Internal Kaneo links with details And of course, a more fluid design. Time to get back to plan out my next sprint!

What if Kaneo got a redesign? I rebuilt the web UI around @base_ui primitives and cleaned up the whole visual system. Same product, much sharper feel. Still polishing, but it’s getting close.
