@AngryBeav4Life @TidalTrump @CoachForGov So if the new coach kicks you to the curb you're just screwed? That doesn't seem fair.
English

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports.
My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer.
After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year.
This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

Exclusive: @CoachForGov introduces ‘Student Athlete Act Of 2026’ aimed at curtailing transfer portal chaos. It give athletes five years to play five seasons, while also penalizing a player 1 year for transferring a second time, he tells @OutKickHotMic outkick.com/sports/tommy-t…
English

@TidalTrump @CoachForGov You commit to the school, not the coach
English

@CoachForGov Should have a carve out for if the coach leaves. There's nothing saying a new coach would want that player the player shouldn't be punished for coaching changes.

@ChrisAlexis2311 @web3queen__ You don’t get to make that decision. The PARENTS do. How dare you presume to defile the corpse of a CHILD without the consent of the parent?

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron Yet even THOSE people, like my father for example who HATED Episodes 1&2 and only KINDA liked Episode 3 was hooked on TCW.
English

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron I think the big dividing line in PT fandom and how TCW factors in to it is if you were old enough to remember seeing all 3 PT films in theaters, or whether your experience was mainly a home video one until episodes 2 or 3. people in that group hadnt come around by S2 of TCW
English

“The sequels are no more polarising than the prequels were when they came out," says BB-8 actor and puppeteer Brian Herring.
“All the people who are upset about the sequels are too young to remember how upset the people when the original ones came out were, except they now have the internet. If the internet had been around to the extent it was around when the prequels came out, you'd have seen exactly the same stuff play out. And I think in 10 years' time, you're going to see what you're seeing with the sequels, because the sequels have a huge fan base and I meet them all the time, but they're all much younger than the people complaining on the internet about how much they didn't like. It's perfectly fine, if you don't like them, you don't like them. Everything's not for everyone. And I just think that these things are all generational and I think Battlestar Galactica said it best, 'this has all happened before, it will all happen again.'"

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron Yet when I went to HS the next year, the SENIORS were loving it. Smfh moron
English

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron you were 13. a middle schooler watching a middle school show and seeing other kids your age also watch a middle school show
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron One problem: I was NOT a fan of S1. I was NOT sure about watching S2 at all until I heard good things via word of mouth. And it wasn’t just me. When S3 came out, I was in HS and EVERYONE, from Freshmen to Seniors, was talking about it constantly
English

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron You were in Middle School when the show started airing, of course from your perspective it shifted the tide starting in season 2. you were a kid watching a kid show with other kids.
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron For S1 yes, because it looked and felt like a kids show, too much like the objectively bad film that came out in 08. But S2 was where the change happened. I SAW it, hell I was ONE of the people who was NOT a fan of S1.
English

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron 34
So just for reference, I was in college when the Clone Wars was airing. I liked TCW at the time, one or two other hardcore fans did too, we watched it live on Cartoon Network, but it was impossible to convince casual fans, OT fans, or even people who read some books to join
English

@the_MDT @sw_holocron It LOOKS nicer and the actors are given better scripts, but the story was disgustingly bad. The new characters were atrocious, the old characters were shit on, and the entire story of Episodes 1-6 was collectively thrown in the garbage.
English

@AngryBeav4Life @sw_holocron Eh there was some good acting, editing, and great visuals
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO that’s so untrue it’s not even funny
English

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron No. the shift happened around Season 4, maybe season 3 a little. But truly, the big big shift didnt happen until cancellation when the whole series got put on Netflix.
English

@tingletad @RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron Clearly you weren’t around then dude. 2009 was Season 2. Season 1 was popular with kids and disliked by teens and adults. Season 2 was when the shift happened.
English

@AngryBeav4Life @RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron The series absolutely was hated back then, it only really became popular as the kids who watched it grew up
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron Uh, yes it had. S2 aired in 2009, and that was what kickstarted the rise of Clone Wars in mass popularity.
English

@tingletad @RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron LOL no, it was not. The FILM was, the series was not. It hadn’t yet reached peak popularity by any means, that wouldn’t occur until 2010 with S3, but it was exploding and everyone knew it
English

@AngryBeav4Life @RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron In 2009 the clone wars show was hated by everybody above the age of 12
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron That would’ve been a stupid criticism since Lucas was heavily involved up until I believe S4. And I didn’t say it HAD shifted the narrative, I said it had started to. There’s not a single equivalent show for the sequels to point to. Simple fact is that the sequel era is a failure
English

@AngryBeav4Life @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron For a good while, TCW being good was used against the PT, further proof that Lucas isn't a good director, or a sign of a version of the PT could have been like, etc
English

@sw_holocron Prequels: good story told poorly
Sequels: bad story told well
English

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron By 2009, Star Wars the Clone Wars was already shifting the narrative on the prequel era. There’s not a single show set within the sequel era that has achieved the impact of Clone Wars. There’s CLOSEST is Mandalorian, but the parts that connect to the Sequels are the most hated
English

@Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron 10 years from the start of PT (since youre measuring 10 from the start of the ST) was 2009
in 2009, the phrase "George Lucas raped my childhood" was still common.
English

@BelligeBeavs @nickdaschel @DanielLibit @johncanzanobft @JamesCrepea It’s simple: The Oregonian has a vested interest in seeing Oregon State become irrelevant and Barnes is GREAT for that because bad teams = no need for coverage. When the PAC collapsed, Danny Marang pushed back against covering OSU by saying there was nothing good worth reporting.
English

@nickdaschel @DanielLibit @johncanzanobft @JamesCrepea And yet, the state's largest paper filed a PRR for the same records.
Our records. BEAVER NATION's records.
70 minutes after we said it was almost done...
But did nothing about it in the 5 months prior.
And nothing since.
Make of that what you will.

Oregon State is at one of the most consequential crossroads in its history. Conference realignment. A controversial NIL deal. AD disfunction.
Decisions that will shape this university for generations.
This is when local media SHOULD be most aggressive.

English

@ThePhilosophian @CF_Budge No, it would kill hundreds of programs. The EPL and European soccer in general is littered with the corpses of local and smaller clubs that couldn’t compete with the bigger clubs
English

@CF_Budge I want to see CFB create an English Premier League type setup where, every year, 5 schools are regulated to the tier 2 band, and 5 schools are promoted to tier 1.
It would create year-long excitement for EVERY school
English

It appears that NIL and the Transfer Portal is having almost the exact same effect on CBB and CFB. The only difference is perception, as CBB had a reputation of more parity because of its postseason format.
CBB/CFB Pre-NIL: Small schools could out-experience/ out-develop big schools and win. A few elite schools hoard talent and dominate.
CBB/CFB Post NIL: You get what you pay for. Only top 20-40 P4 teams really have a fighting chance. Elite blue bloods look more vulnerable.
