If either of those police officers are threatened with disciplinary action, there should be mass public protests. The man was still holding the knife. They couldn't be sure he wasn't wearing a suicide vest. They had every damn right to put the boot in. They are heroes.

You prick. He’s still clutching the attack weapon, therefore stun the control centre (head) to retrieve the knife. Thank fuck no one is relying on you for protection. Address the crime, he stabbed 2 another got away. Your nauseating kind would prefer an aromatherapy diffuser and some reiki.

Our brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.

@JohnWight1 You absolute tosser. He still had the blade in his hand and how do they know if he’s not got another weapon concealed. Would have been better if they could have just shot the scumbag.

Rupert Lowe is no supporter of women. His track record speaks for itself. Only Labour will tackle violence against women and girls.

Nothing shows how much the Premier League doesnt care about fans than moving Burnley to a Monday night. Burnley fans now having to get home by 3am, and 1000s of people having to pay for travel changes because Sky wanted it moved. Nice Sunday afternoon, last home game in the sun to fighting to get there on a monday night. Consistantly show time and again how they dont care about match going fans. Clubs in question have no say.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust is disappointed by the 8:00pm Monday kick-off for Arsenal vs Burnley. This timing creates clear difficulties for both sets of supporters, particularly those travelling or relying on public transport, and increases costs and disruption. As the final home game of the season, it also means the traditional lap of appreciation will not take place until around 10:00pm, making it less accessible for many fans. We did engage with Arsenal ahead of the most recent broadcast deal, recognising that clubs, including Arsenal, play a role in approving these agreements and asking that it give greater weight to the impact on supporters of games being moved. While we understand the significant financial benefits involved and how they support the club’s growth, we would urge both Arsenal and the Premier League to do more so that scheduling better reflects the needs of match-going supporters.

I was glad to be in the chamber to cheer on @darrenpjones as he took on the opposition parties with skill, passion, and integrity. While they play petty, opportunistic political games, we get on with delivering positive change for the British people. x.com/darrenpjones/s…

We are investing in new rail, roads, and nuclear reactors.
New scanners for our hospitals and free breakfast clubs for our children. We’re not going to let the Conservatives - or their friends in Reform - tear that down.

Seeking transparency in the Mandelson saga - not just over the ambassadorship but also in respect of his corrosive influence on the Labour Party over many years - is not ‘petty, opportunistic political games’. Your tweet and the vote yesterday show just how out of touch Labour is with public feeling on this issue. @UKLabour @Conservatives @theSNP @TheGreenParty @LibDems #LocalElections2026 #LabourSleaze #LabourFriendsOfMandelson

@charles_watts Once again @SkyFootball showing they don’t give a damn about fans. Totally ridiculous decision for a multitude of reasons you’ve highlighted.

Absolute joke that the Burnley game has been moved to the Monday at this late notice. So many fans of both clubs out of pocket having booked flights, hotels, travel, etc. So many now won't be able to go because of work issues, childcare, etc. Final home game of the season, place should be bouncing afterwards, especially if there is something on the Palace game for Arsenal. Supporters roaring the team on at the lap of appreciation, etc, before they head to Selhurst Park. Yet that will probably be at about 10.30/10.45pm now, probably to a half empty stadium because do many have to get off for trains, etc. It's just a disgraceful situation. Again, zero thought for fans at all. Broadcasters just don't care.

Absolutely raging re Burnley. The club alas cannot do anything as its something they cant control. What a poor decision to do that, for us, for Burnley, for fans who actually. pay to go to games. Literally 1000s and 1000s of people now having to make travel changes which will cost them fortunes and in some cases not changable. Horrendous decision
