Kamala Harris falsely accusing Trump of coddling the Charlottesville white supremacist rally exactly one month after she was endorsed by the SPLC—the group that planned, organized, & paid for the Charlottesville white supremacist rally.

This gives me new respect for Jussie Smollett. He bootstrapped his fake hate crime and paid for it himself rather than having SPLC organize and fund it for him. Support your local mom and pop hate crime hoax operations before they’re all put out of business by the big guys.

This evening: @DAGToddBlanche and I are announcing an 11 count indictment against the Southen Poverty Law Center. Charges include wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering. The SPLC allegedly engaged in a massive fraud operation to deceive their donors, enrich themselves, and hide their deceptive operations from the public. They lied to their donors, vowing to dismantle violent extremist groups, and actually turned around and paid the leaders of these very extremist groups - even utilizing the funds to have these groups facilitate the commission of state and federal crimes. That is illegal – and this is an ongoing investigation against all individuals involved.

The DOJ just indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has spent more than half a century fighting the Klan, tracking hate, and defending civil rights. Let's be clear about what's happening. This administration is using the full weight of federal prosecution to target an organization whose mission is rooting out violent extremism. This is part and parcel of Trump's assault on free speech, on nonprofits, and on anyone who dares to disagree with him. First it was lawfare against political opponents. Then it was revoking the tax status of universities. Now it's a federal indictment against one of the most historic civil rights organizations in America. The SPLC has saved lives. It will not be silenced — and neither will we.

Since Trump entered the political sphere, he has been accused nonstop of being misogynistic and racist. Yet right now, he is quite literally the only world leader saying anything about 8 brown Iranian women being executed by the Islamic Republic. Weird.
