Everyone cries ‘tax the rich more’  A £150k earner pays £53,460 in tax  A £25k earner pays just £2,486 in tax It takes 21 £25k earners to contribute was one £150k earner does in tax  The  top 1% pay 28.5% of all income tax The bottom 50% only pay 9% of all income tax The problem is not the rich The problem is how much tax is wasted

@WesRoth I created some years ago a new field of study with it. An interdisciplinary one. Might be still some years ahead so nobody's interest-ed.

Every conversation I have about "the future after AI" eventually comes down to this: We're arguing about distribution of value, not creation of it. The abundance is already assumed. We're just fighting over who gets what. That's the real conversation nobody wants to have directly.

It's better to sell 100 $hot to 100 people than to sell 10000 $hot to one person. Do you get it?

@ksuaprel @Holochain There are different types of delays and there are different styles of communicating about them. You can't blame 100% on the thousands of people who became disappointed, angry, pissed, left.

@Atotsm2 @Holochain I hate empty promises as much as anyone, but crypto is a space where delays are just part of the game. Even top-tier projects don't have it easy...

P.S. People who say the developers $hot couldn't launch a network in 8 years just don't get the scale of this project. Bitcoin wasn't interesting to anyone for years either. GTA 6 got delayed multiple times... I could go on. Can you honestly call that a scam @Holochain ?

This is a group of coal miners packed into a multi-level elevator cage, preparing to descend into a mine shaft in Europe. The capitalists would have loved to import slaves from Africa, but by the time the Industrial Revolution took off in the 18th and 19th centuries, Europe had an abundance of displaced rural peasants because pro-capital land reforms had forced millions of people off ancestral lands and into cities. So, it was significantly cheaper to pay a local labourer a subsistence wage than to purchase, transport, and maintain a slave from across the Atlantic. Also, in contrast to owning slaves, the wage-slave system they were running in Europe meant, the employer wasn’t responsible for the worker’s housing, food, or health when they weren’t working or when they became too old or sick to produce. Beyond this, mine owners feared that unlike in the cotton farms in America, a workforce of slaves with nothing to lose would be more prone to sabotage in a highly volatile underground environment where a single misplaced support beam could destroy the entire capital investment. There’s also the thing with Britain making slavery illegal. So, capitalists found it more effective to keep “free” labour in Europe and forced labour in the colonial periphery like the rubber extraction plantations in the Congo.

Strong week. Roadmap velocity holding steady, Wind Tunnel maturing, Unyt oracles shipped, Unyt and configurable membranes. The pattern is clear: consistent progress, transparent communication, production-ready infrastructure emerging. Momentum into next week. #Holochain

I'm sorry to say that Grok 4.20 has become much more ChatGPT-like in the last week. It gets stuck on "well ackshually" kind of pedantry AND it stops thinking broadly or even searching broadly and just picks a hill to die on. It does the same kind of nonsense that ChatGPT used to (before I deleted my account) where it seems like it really just wants to one-up the user on completely asinine points while deliberately missing the point. This is a massive departure from how Grok 4.20 behaved on launch. I showed a conversation to Claude and even Claude was like "yeah, Grok sort of defeated its own argument but couldn't concede" Pathetic.

Meta is rolling out a 24/7 AI agent globally across the Facebook and Instagram apps. The AI doesn't just point users to help articles, it can autonomously execute tasks. If a user needs to reset a password, change privacy settings, or appeal a content takedown, the AI can perform the action directly, typically in under five seconds. Over the next few years, Meta is deploying advanced AI systems to proactively hunt down severe violations, such as account takeovers, scams, and child exploitation. According to Meta, the new AI is already outperforming human reviewers in several categories. It is currently catching 5,000 scam attempts per day that humans missed, has reduced celebrity impersonation reports by 80%, and caught twice as much adult sexual solicitation with 60% fewer errors. The new enforcement AI can understand the languages spoken by 98% of people online (up from 80%), and is specifically trained to decode rapidly changing cultural slang, emojis, and niche code words. As these AI systems scale, Meta explicitly stated it will reduce its reliance on third-party moderation vendors. Human reviewers will be shifted away from repetitive graphic content and instead focus on complex, high-risk appeals and law enforcement interactions.
