Activist leadership is very relevant to my leadership challenge to tackle the gap between income and expenditure as it will require collective action. An individual alone cannot raise the minimum wage, it will take a group movement to be noticed. #OUB329Wk16

Resistance leadership was very interesting to read about. I agree with Collinson and Ackroyd that resistance in the workplace is not always deviant behaviour, but is part of organisational life and can be used as a driver for positive change. #OUB329Wk15

When undertaking our leadership challenge project, our group should initially come together and discuss what a successful outcome will look like - developing a vision of success will hopefully lead to a positive-sum outcome. #B329Wk12

In an ideal world we would have a lot more positive-sum outcomes, but unfortunately in the world of business - I think this very rarely happens. I believe in the majority of cases, someone either loses or compromises, especially when money is involved. #B329Wk12

As I work within the NHS, week 11 was particularly interesting. I have witnessed first hand that every leadership decision will cause conflict, but agree that these decisions often lead to innovation and the halting of poor practice. Conflict is therefore necessary. #OUB329Wk11

Week 10 has encouraged me to take a more active role in contributing towards leadership in my organisation. Just because you aren't in a position of traditional 'power' doesn't mean that you have no influence. #OUB329Wk10

It was interesting to read about the power followers have not only in influencing leadership, but also voting to prevent toxic leadership. It highlights the importance of building positive relationships, and listening to the opinions of those followers. #OUB329Wk10

The role of leader to promote collaboration within teams is so important - Rome was not built in a day, and not singlehandedly! I think a shared vision that all members agree on and contribute to is the best way to begin working collaboratively. #OUB329Wk9

My weakest collaborative leadership capability is not seeing a problem from all angles before acting. I often jump, fuelled by emotion and little factual accuracy which has landed me in hot water before! I must try harder to slow down! #OUB329Wk9
