I just had a former research assistant, who is now in medical school email me to tell me that two of my team's papers about children with medical complexity and their families are part of the required readings.
I have a feeling @EstherJLee_MD has something to do with this ♥️

Creating more $10/day spots comes at the expense of families raising children with disabilities.

@SenMoodie This wonderful news. We are however very concerned to see the the UNCRPD (disability rights framework) is not embedded in this bill. Now is the time to make critical amendments and make progress on Canada's international commitments!

70% of Canadian adults with an intellectual or developmental disability live in poverty. The hard-won CDB is intended to help alleviate this, and the BC gov’t must assure them that provincial clawbacks won't undermine this goal.

The #CDB is a supplement - not a subtraction. P/Ts need to bring #PWD out of poverty not perpetuate it.
