My wife has $75k saved after 10 years of working. She wants to put: $20k into Bitcoin $20k into gold $35k as an emergency buffer But she is confused between going heavier into BTC now while it’s down, or staying safe until global conflicts. What would you suggest her? 🤔

@BoomerDivvies Bitcoin is still a tiny asset so it makes sense that it is still very volatile. However, it has the necessary fundamental qualities (low stock to flow, superior salability and portability, etc) to become one of the largest assets in time.

Bitcoin hit $76k on Tuesday. Bitcoin hit $69k today (Thursday) Moving 10% in two days is why Bitcoin will not become the currency standard and why it’s struggling now to be a proper store of value. Will it settle down to become less volatile and more reliable?

Anyone else notice how ALL Assets are falling AT THE SAME TIME? What is a "RISK ASSET" anymore when GOLD can fall 5% for 2 days in a row while STOCKS and BITCOIN also drop and BONDS fall also? All without major FX moves... Its as if the world is moving to CASH out of fear of escalating war. (despite the certainty much more of it will be printed) Remember, the most money is made when everyone around you is in panic mode. SO Be careful & don't over-leverage, but invest in assets you believe will outperform when the printing starts in earnest...

@StockMKTNewz In reality, lower and higher income people are doing fine, while the middle class is struggling.

IS THE "K SHAPED" ECONOMY ACTUALLY A "E-SHAPED" ECONOMY? The "E-shaped" economy describes a situation where the rich are doing well, the middle class is "hanging in there", and lower-income households are struggling, with the middle class being "clearly fatigued with high prices". Macy's $M CEO said today: “More than 50% of our business at Macy’s and more than 75% of our business at Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury is the upper-middle and upper-income consumer” “The reality is the lower-income consumer has to make choices about non-discretionary categories. The middle- to upper-income consumers is looking at newness and fashion.” (Source Bloomberg)

@BTCoptioneer Someone owning 10% still makes Bitcoin extremely decentralized. Also. @saylor doesn’t own all those Bitcoin. The shareholders do. There is millions of them.

“If $MSTR buys too much Bitcoin, it won’t be decentralized anymore.” We already live in a world where BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street are the largest shareholders in most of the market and control ~20% of U.S. equities. Did that stop anyone from investing? Decentralization doesn’t mean no large holders. It means no single point of control. Bitcoin is still miles ahead. Food for thought.

for a decade, the entire crypto industry attempted to kill its golden (orange?) goose for their own gain. they said bitcoin was too slow, too technologically unsophisticated, environmentally catastrophic. they spin up a multiplicity of air tokens and exchanges to trade them. an entire industry of people dedicated to trying to get you to sell your bitcoin in exchange for something they made for free. then Saylor came along and amplified for all to hear the two principles that have been clear to every bitcoin maximalist since the beginning: 1) there is no second best 2) never sell your bitcoin and he built his entire company around these principles to prove that bitcoin could work in the way Hal and Satoshi imagined: as base layer capital for a bitcoin bank. and all of those air tokens and air token exchanges - who needs them? it’s no wonder the entire crypto industry hates him, but it’s very unclear to me how anyone who calls themselves a bitcoin maximalist could hate a man who instantiated bitcoin maximalism as the foundation of his company.
grubles@notgrubles

Nearly the entire crypto industry is centered around trying to get you to not buy or use Bitcoin.

Beating the S&P 500 isn't difficult. But beating the S&P 500 consistently, over the long term, is very very difficult. Many people overestimate their ability to pick good stocks over the long term. They eventually realize that it’s a losing game. That's why just buying the market could be a good strategy.
