@Tablesalt13 A lot of them reside permanently Mexico, why should taxpayers who can’t afford to feed themselves, buy homes, get Healthcare etc have to pay to bring them back.

@randerson137 @MBPCcaucus @obbykhan60 @InterlakePC I would if the rules allowed for it. In order for anyone other than the Speakers staff or an MLA (or former MLA) to be allowed on the floor of the chamber, it must be agreed to. The Government House Leader who is also the Minister responsible for accessibility denied the request

Accessibility Minister Nahanni Fontaine DENIED our MLA’s requests for an ASL interpreter twice this week. MLA Wayne Balcaen wants a sign language interpreter present for his Bill 225, the Deaf Awareness Day and Day of Sign Languages Act. Twice this week, when PC House Leader Derek Johnson requested permission (“leave”) to allow an ASL interpreter in the chamber for Bill 225, Nahanni said “no.” When they show you who they are, believe them. @obbykhan60 @Balcy2 @InterlakePC #mbpoli

@MarkWasyliw Hey Mark, It’s me again…cause you seem to think there is no plan from Wab’s team concerning Health Care. Looks like they succesfully landed 8 new international doctors who have committed to practicing in rural communities…

Many congrats to the Reimer family on the passing of the Victims of Impaired Drivers Commemoration Day Act! And thank you to Brandon West MLA Wayne Balcaen (@Balcy2) for bringing such an important bill forward. May 1st of every year will now be dedicated to commemorate the lives of Manitobans lost to impaired driving. Wayne brought this bill—with the support of Portage la Prairie MLA @JeffBereza and our entire PC Caucus—in remembrance of Jordyn Reimer, Kelly Verwey, and all those whose lives were taken by an impaired driver. With that said, the fight against impaired driving is not over. Last week, the NDP government (for the 2nd time) refused to support a PC resolution calling for an independent review into why no charges were laid against an alleged accomplice in Jordyn Reimer’s death. Myself and our Progressive Conservative team urge the NDP to stop delaying Justice for Jordyn. #mbpoli

@ConJonMac @MarkWasyliw Lots of ideas are pitched but Wab just waves them off. Advocating (not whining) brings attention to matters that need to be addressed. It was the NDP, led by Wab that promised to get tough on crime and the causes of crime. Neither has happened so Wab needs to be called out!!

@Rempel_Ong I would agree. A huge failing of Wab was not making any sanctions for something so damaging to his entire caucus. This is not just Nahanni wearing this it is the entire NDP. It keeps getting worse, it’s like she is doing this on purpose to keep it alive and garner more attention

@Balcy2 Wab may also be really keen to get attention away from Nahanni’s staff. First it was the balloon display, then dismissing ASL as frantic hand gestures, now it’s blocking APTN.

For the last 2 years, the NDP could not care less about Spruce Woods or rural Manitoba. Now — right before a by-election blackout — they’ve suddenly had 4 big announcements in the area. Either he’s had an epiphany or the premier’s trying to buy some votes in Spruce Woods.

Happy to provide clarifying data. Last 3 mo. 2025 vs 2024: - VIOLENT CR⬇️13% (470 to 407) - Assaults ⬇️14% (176 to 152) - Serious Assaults ⬇️13% (133 to 116) - Robbery ⬇️35% (40-26) - *PROPERTY CR⬆️17% (907 to 1058) - BNE Business ⬇️42% (53 to 31) - BNE Res ⬇️38% (39 to 24)
SEAN ORR@seanorr

The thing is, these percentages suffer from a base line fallacy. They don’t show us the actual numbers and except when break-ins went up in Strathcona and they want to emphasize it’s a small amount (from 7-10). 2/

Wab is showing his true colours when he seems offended that PCs are giving up a question to give independent MLA Mark Wasyliw a chance to ask questions. I guess he doesn’t like getting called out on his past statements.

I’m left speechless. The Justice Minister says he’s done everything he can for the family. I disagree, all it would take is one signature to send a letter of request!!!
Manitoba PC Caucus@MBPCcaucus

For the 2nd time, the NDP have denied Justice for Jordyn Reimer. Jordyn was a vibrant 24-year-old woman whose life was taken by an impaired driver at a Winnipeg intersection in 2022. Today, PC Justice Critic Wayne Balcaen (@Balcy2) introduced a resolution requesting an out-of-province review of the decision not to prosecute an alleged accomplice in Jordyn’s death. The NDP shot it down in front of her parents and family. Leader @obbykhan60 and MLA Balcaen later called out Wab Kinew and his justice minister for their lack of courage to ensure justice for Jordyn. And earlier this week, the Reimer family with MADD Canada held a ceremony to unveil a memorial bench dedicated to Jordyn in Transcona. MLA Balcaen attended. No one from the NDP showed up, including the justice minister and Transcona MLA Shannon Corbett. #mbpoli
