Mark Carney is a master of timing. Today he delivered a moral lecture to Israel while Hamas terrorists he won't deport ran wild in Montreal hanging Jews in effigy.

@MichelleLA1981 @davidallenwest Maybe we should have a referendum in BC if is worth it to be part of Canada or not anymore. Western side of Canada is treated so different than eastern side of Canada.

Make it make sense: the crowd that argues about how Canada’s deinstitutionalization was negative and led to our homelessness crisis (with mentally ill persons living miserable lives outdoors) is suddenly opposed to mandatory treatment — if the patient involved has expressed right wing politics? It’s also the same crowd that supports politicians and parties who want mandatory addictions treatment…

In the mid-50s Riverview had nearly 5,000 patients, reduced to about 1,300 when I worked there in the late 80s IMO the failure to implement a Provincial community-based system addressing addiction & mental health is part of what’s contributed to the current crisis of street homelessness, public disorder, and mortality In good settings involuntary care will be the beginning of long term positive change, and in bad settings it’s part of a costly revolving door I wrote more about involuntary care here in case of interest: vancouversun.com/opinion/op-ed/…

@VictoriaRumble1 If you are looking for women for leadership, it's certainly not this former BC liberal disaster, Christy Clark!

I am deeply concerned about the direction of politics in British Columbia right now. My only hope is that whoever wins the leadership will focus on keeping the party united and grounded in common sense solutions that truly address the issues impacting everyday British Columbians — affordability, responsible budgets, education, economic development, healthcare, public safety, and fairness for ALL British Columbians. What worries me most is hearing talk that if certain candidates do not win, some may split off to create another centre-left/liberal-style party or align with groups like OneBC, which many people view as increasingly divisive, extreme, and intolerant of differing opinions and political values. That path would only fracture the vote further and hand more power back to the NDP. British Columbians are tired of division, ideological warfare, and political infighting. We need mature leadership, respectful dialogue, and a coalition focused on solutions — not egos, factions, or purity tests. If the right and centre continue splintering into smaller groups, we risk undoing the momentum that so many people worked hard to build. The priority must be the future of British Columbia, not personal political ambitions.

Make that 18,000 BC Conservatives have now voted. Roughly 69% turnout for eligible voters.

@CollinRugg Most homeless are drug addicts, alcoholics or have severe mental health issues; everyone has known that for decades. The failure to accept that fact and construct a system to deal with it is because no-one wants to appear mean-spirited. It's a perfect example of suicidal empathy

NEW: Spencer Pratt fires back at reporter after he was asked about his plan for the homeless, says they will all end up in Seattle. Reporter: "What are your plans for the over 40,000 homeless in Los Angeles?" Pratt: "Well, they're not homeless, they're drug addicts... These people have been bused in by scam rehabs, scam NGOs, scam homeless nonprofits." "These people, when I unplug them ... they're all going to Seattle, where the mayor will welcome them."

I stopped drinking nearly 2 years ago. I believe now more than I did then that there are no established benefits to drinking. But the negatives are verifiable and backed by extensive research. The “positives” are social only I’ve personally experienced no social downsides. I don’t care if other people drink, and I don’t ask people not to drink around me, and it’s usually not weird for them when I don’t. The stigma around not drinking is virtually gone. Everywhere has an NA option now, and they’re usually pretty good. I started by giving it up for 90 days. It was a personal health challenge to myself, that’s it. After 90 days I realized I didn’t miss it so I decided to go a year. After a year it was just part of my life so I kept going. Morale to the story: do whatever you want.

断酒62日目。 「小さな事に感謝する。Appreciate  small things .」

@fscarfe Agree. I am sure with the stupid idea to keep the bars and clubs serving liquor open till 4 AM, there will be fights both inside and outside these establishments. Also, I assume Granville Street will be closed to all traffic as well. Opposing teams' fans will be drunk and 1/2

For what I believe are EIGHT football games in Vancouver is: "Hosting the FIFA World Cup will cost Canadian taxpayers just over $1 billion, a Parliamentary Budget Officer report says. Roughly half of amount will is Federal funds; with the balance from other levels of government."
