It’s over. Anthropic just banned OpenClaw. Uncensored thoughts: 1. Massive mistake that will come back to bite them 2. Open source needs to win. If you have a local model running on your Mac mini, no corporation will ever be able to ban you 3. ChatGPT 5.4 is the best model. But it sucks compared to opus in OpenClaw. I will continue to pay for Anthropic api 4. I have no doubt the next OpenAI model will be optimized for Openclaw and be excellent 5. In 6 months the local models will be as good as opus 4.6 and all of this will be forgotten 6. It’s feels like from a consumer sentiment perspective things have flipped for OpenAI and Anthropic. They were the darlings when Opus 4.5 came out 7. Going to the Kanye concert right now please don’t spoil the stage or set list in the replies 8. The best openclaw set up is now Opus as the orchestrator, then much cheaper models as the execution layer. If you do this properly you won’t be paying much more than $200 a month. I’m using Gemma 4 and Qwen 3.5 for execution on my DGX Spark and Mac Studio

Starting tomorrow at 12pm PT, Claude subscriptions will no longer cover usage on third-party tools like OpenClaw. You can still use these tools with your Claude login via extra usage bundles (now available at a discount), or with a Claude API key.

@imranye I'm running a pair of DGX sparks with Nvidia Nemotron Super but still leaning on Sonnet 4.6 for most everything.

I don't debate it in group chats anymore. I used to feel the urge to defend myself. To convince people. Now I just build. The work will speak for itself.

When I was 12 (1992), I was dialing up on a BBS. Kids on the bus were laughing at me. Those same kids grew up to live their entire lives on the internet. I'm watching it happen again.

I cannot stress this enough: The time to sit on the sidelines is over The most important application of our lifetime OpenClaw just released 2 months ago While 99% of the world is scared because they think it'll leak their nudes, you need to strike. Opportunities don't present themselves like this often. Massive, world changing technology that the general public is scared to use. That's a massive gap you need to exploit This is the time you adopt all of these tools. Even though it's early. Even though there are risks. You do it anyway. You be careful and you do what so few are willing to do: have some personal responsibility. But you NEED to strike. When the 99% are scared to do something, you have to do it. You have to take the risk. That's when the greatest opportunity is. In 2 years 100% of the world will be using AI agents, and this opportunity will be dead. No more playing around. Stop doom scrolling and start tinkering with tech that will change your life.

The mindshift most people are missing: Stop telling AI what to do. Give it context. Ask the questions. Let it educate you on what you don't know. Then execute on the best path forward. You wouldn't hire the smartest team in the world and hand them a script. You'd ask, is this even the right thing to be doing? Same principle. Different leverage.

AI doesn't add philosophy. It multiplies whatever you already have. Give it to someone with a bad idea and they can execute it across the entire organization in seconds.

"Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot." - Jim Rohn He said this long before AI existed. It just became 1000x more relevant. youtube.com/shorts/Gq-WDVq…
