BREAKING: Prestonwood Christian Academy has announced the hiring of David Wetzel as head football coach. Wetzel most recently spent time in a variety of roles with Baylor University over the last decade, following 25 years of Texas high school coaching experience. In that time, Wetzel amassed a record of 163-71, with TXPS ties, coaching Austin Hyde Park from 1988-1989. He was also a two-year letterman at wide receiver for Baylor from 1990-1991. BREAKING Liberty Christian Head Coach Jason Witten is finalizing a deal to become the Tight End’s Coach at the University of Oklahoma. With Witten at the helm, the Warriors went 46-15 and in that time flipped the program from a 2-8 record in his first season to 10-2 the next season, and then going 16-1 in back to back seasons to secure two TAPPS State titles in 2023 and 2024. In his time, Witten established Liberty Christian as one of the premier private school programs in the state, and himself as one of the top program builders and coaches in the state.
