@Rustum_0 With the removal of Persian authority and even of public education for English, we have become woefully detached from our historical literacy & literature and thought, our neighbors, & nativized prestige in favor of one that is in explicit opposition to our civilization.

It’s a joke to pretend Iranian feminists don’t support the destruction of the IRGC. For gamergate, we were standing up to death threats. Iranian women are literally standing up to death squads that will execute them You’re some freak antisemite that hates Jews and can’t tell good from evil because you’re too busy cheerleading a political project to eliminate 7.1 million Jews.

@kaeshour Only people most invested in” isnt that both a tautology & non grammatical ? And idk why bring up “modern Iran” specifically, in this thread. The Shia era wayy succeeds the Persianate spread. To say nothing of the vast array of Irani rulers pre-“Persianate era” specifically.

@BeanstalkerJake Those are the only people most invested in Persian culture in India. There are stragglers and exceptions, but it is the Shiism that makes modern Iran relevant to Indians for whom it is primarily relevant. Nothing else.

This is a stupid idea. Turkic “Persianate” culture in India played a role similar to Norman French in England after the nation’s conquest. However, unlike the English example, India is a *much* larger population and a vast majority of it remained untouched by this elite fashion.
Simone Morgante@SimoMorgante

@iamrana I believe that India’s belonging (in its entirety, even in the South and the East) to the Persian cultural sphere is a historical component which, although absolutely decisive in the development of premodern India, has by now fallen into oblivion in terms of historical memory.

just listened to a secular liberal turkish pol/econ pundit talk about the mena territories of the ottoman empire as “colonies” in a manner similar to how the british speak of india, on video about turkish european-ness this speaks volumes about his anxiety to jbwmaxx, since these two imperial relationships aren’t comparable

@Narjes_Rahmati @Soureh_design2 Dar hifāżat “isfahān”, thats from Persian. Knowing it is “Sipāhān” has more meaning. It’s when we say ہارموز and آراگچی solely bc it’s what Americans sound like that got me investigating. Something breaks me, to be so illiterate.

thank god for Indians who have honoured their old ties of belonging to the Persianate culture and this Iran still thinks of India as a friendly country. The two great ancient civilizations came together in the subcontinent and produced a cultural synthesis, which has rarely been seen. long ago i wrote on The Tradition of Indo-Persian Literature ranasafvi.com/the-tradition-…

.@Barugaru1 puts out what has been spoken of in hushed tones in Delhi. Modi trusted Bibi's claim that the Iranian regime will be finished for good with Israeli strikes, and India thus planned its policy on Iran waiting for the next government to take power in Tehran.

Do you have a single, Material, genetical, Cultural, linguistic or anything literally a single connection to IVC? Average south indian is more genetically closer to IVC people than you guys Indus nationalism is pure Cope lmao
MD Umair Khan@MDUmairKh

Indus Valley Civilisation: 3300–1300 BCE. Hinduism (Vedic Period): 1500–300 BCE. The Indus Valley is older than Hinduism (300 BCE) and Indian Republic (1947). These are accepted historical, scientific and archaeological facts. The rest is speculative and revisionist nonsense.

atheists criticize the religion they have rhe most resentment towards the most which in every region happens to be the dominant belief of the region same reason indian atheists criticize hinduism most and arab atheists criticize islam the most it's really not dat deep
Nightsky@Morningbird_Asa

I think the left gives islam leeway compared to christianity because 1- they aren't familiar with it so they can't criticize something they don't understand and 2- most people who "criticize" islam the loudest are just racists who want to shit on brown people.

@rindraider @BheriaMS No they don't. This type of shit is only promoted by Pashtuns and ethno-fascist iranic groups. I mean, how can you consider Mappila Malayalis as crypto-Hindus They were among the first converts. Their ethno-fascist mentality can't comprehend this

In his diaries, FM Ayyub Khan, a Pashtun, considered Bengali Muslims to be crypto Hindus. Niazi, who reportedly wanted to change the "race" of Bengalis, was also a Pashtun. Among the Punjabis involved you had more anti-Hindu than anti-Bengali sentiments (e.g., Tikka Khan)
Voice Of Bangladeshi Muslims 🇧🇩@VOBMUSLIMs

Look at this map. In 1971, we lost land, wealth and power of West Pakistan, which was many times bigger than Bangladesh. Look, not many people in Bangladesh feel this pain. Not many people in this country have the mentality to rest comfortably in a good toilet. There are not ten clean modern toilets in the highest school in the country. When I went to a big office, I saw that there were no tissues in the toilet. There was no liquid soap in the toilet. I don't feel like shaking hands with people in anger. So I don't think you will understand properly when I talk about losing rights over a large territory in this country. Most of the lazy people here are happy to complain about the ant they see in front of them. Even if there is a huge giraffe behind them, they are not willing to turn their heads and look back. However, let me remind you of the conflict over #Pakistan. The fight was between Bengalis and Punjabis. Although Punjab was larger in area than Bangladesh, it was smaller in population and could not cope with the rule of Pakistan under Bangladesh. That is why the #Punjabis have strategically forced Bangladesh to separate. In this case, the power-hungry idiot Mujib has been used. In the middle, the Punjabis have gained control of the entire West Pakistan. Bangladesh is deprived in the middle. For example, as an ethnic group, the Punjabis have nuclear weapons. On the other hand, the Bengalis have guns. And yes, India has no special victory because of 1971. It has just gained some brokers. If these brokers die, India will have no dominance in Bangladesh. Bangladesh will be established as a strong Muslim republic today or tomorrow, God willing. It is a pity that one day we will have a strong economy, nuclear weapons, but there will be no opportunity to dominate the vast land of Pakistan. The Muslims of Bangladesh must forget the pain of losing the land of West Pakistan and make their area equal to the area of the #Bengal_Sultanate. That dream will be possible only when people expect a better life like eating better, wearing better clothes, and using smart toilets.
