I don't think people realize this is the closest elon will come to being involved in government, and what an opportunity it is.. here's the recipe I've seen him perform: * find the unequivocally excellent and critical people within an organization who put the mission first * unlock them to do their best work by removing all barriers in their way * align incentives for that organization so all vectors point in the same direction with a quick feedback loop * cut wasteful spending and then invest strategically with discipline America could be much greater than it is today and somehow it's still the best while being massively handicapped. Imagine if: * legal, merit-based immigration was fast * the best engineers and technologists wanted to invest and build strong gov products/services for the people * sick care actually became healthcare and was affordable * government agencies were held accountable to their missions and bureaucracy was actually cut * inflation and spending were under control * there were long-term investments that got people excited about the future
